PS3 Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Since the bigger news about this game is going to start hitting thick and fast, I thought I might as well start a thread.

So info so far on Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

The sequel to the multi-million unit selling Uncharted: Drake's Fortune(MetaCritic rating 88), Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will be a PlayStation 3 exclusive game.

Published by: Sony Computer Entertainment.
Developed by: Naughty Dog Software.
Release Date: September-November 2009 release window has been given.
Genre: Third Person Action Adventure.
Online/Multiplayer: Co-op and Competitive multiplayer/online.

So far we know about just the 2 main characters, that being the returning Nathan Drake, and a new character, in the Australian Chloe Frazer(Voiced by Aussie Claudia Black), no word on whether Sully and/or Elena will return for the sequel.

UNCHARTED 2: AMONG THIEVES MULTIPLAYER AND CO-OP REVEALED
Multiplayer co-op for 3 players.

Different story than single player.​

Zones/actions in the map required for 2/3 players.​

Mini-bosses in each section.

​

Players will revive after a few seconds (if the other players to help revive).

-Deathmatch -​

4vs4 you can choose two skills. And you need to explore like in Uncharted 1 to find the Strongest weapons.

-Capture the treasure, is like CTF.4vs4 trying to steal treasures from the enemy base.​

So a co-op like Resistance 2's.(ie Non main story related).

True, but I suppose the difference in gameplay and style in all three games(Obviously there will be a shitload of others too) means that it might just be a change of pace kind of thing, move from one game to another just to break up the monotony, could be a good thing.

Multiplayer footage is out, and it looks...AMAZING!

I have to say I wasn't too impressed first time around with the graphics(From that GDC gameplay trailer, which was shit quality at best anyway), I mean they were great, but to me they just looked like a minor improvement from the first, but this video(Which is FAR better in a higher quality than the Youtube vid in HQ, watch that at this IGN link), really shows the graphics off, they are so damn in depth and detailed it is astounding, I am REALLY, REALLY IMPRESSED by the graphics now.

but what an idiot...he totally shoulda just picked up a sniper and knocked them off one by one instead of jumping straight into the fire fight haha

the only thing that i think might annoy me is that it will take alot of bullets to kill another person....

I think that's the thing, the first Uncharted didn't even have a multiplayer/co-op, so an addition can only be a good thing(No doubt there will still be a shitload who still complain), but as long as the single player can stand up and/or beat the original I will be happy, would also like the co-op to be more Turok style than Resistance 2 though(I absolutely LOVED Turok's co-op missions, best co-op I have played, without doubt), one thing that will be great with a separate co-op is that it can be expanded through DLC, basically will never get old or repetitive like a story co-op could, so hopefully there can be plenty of DLC to expand both multiplayer and co-op.

I did notice the bullets it took to kill someone, could be changed through the beta(Which I hope to christ we can get access to), but I think being a lower limit of people in games it won't be one of those that your really needing to take them out super quickly otherwise you'll die sort of thing.

UNCHARTED 2 BETA DETAILS
The beta version allows you to play at the same level shown so far, a citizen of Nepal, both by co-operating in multiplayer.

--Retrieve a gold item (as a treasure) from the enemy territory and carry him safely in his (like 'capture flag')

-Using the headset is very useful especially to overcome an important point. The weapons available are up to 2 (one gun and another one among rifle, machine gun, grenade launcher) and some hand grenades.

The gameplay reminds tantissimo Gears of War, both for movement and for the actions of combat, with the difference being set in places and with different characters and with the help of gameplay that allows this new title as the climbing of a facade of a building and shoot the enemies that are down, or clinging to the top to discover all of a sudden and precipitate to the enemy that went to lean.

Original Story: SCEE has confirmed to GOONL!NE that the Uncharted 2 multiplayer demo will make it’s way to Europe. A Sony spokesperson said that it will be announcing details on how to get the demo will come shortly.

However, we most likely think it will be through pre-orders for the game, so there you have it..

Not to mention Kotaku writes "So it turns out that inFamous preorder offer that comes with entry into the Uncharted 2 multiplayer beta is just for North America."

So obviously they have no clue.
