An unfortunate situation with Tomiyasu and his recurring injuries. A shame it came to that. I wonder if it was player led or not, it was reported last season he spent a considerable amount of time back with his family in Japan and doing some recovery work there. It can be very difficult and lonely being on the other side of the world whilst suffering those setbacks.

Perhaps it was he who initiated this decision, as that type of thing isn’t necessarily associated with Arsenal (and long history of persisting with frequently injured players, Arteta even handed out a new contract extension to Elneny when he did his ACL for example).

He was excellent when on the pitch, there was a time he was integral to Arteta’s plans, either a regular starter or usually amongst the first substitutes to bring into a match. His departure leaves a whole in the squad for that type of unique, versatile defender across the back 4. Hoping he can return to fitness and get back to playing again at the highest level.

Well, I'm glad we have moved on then. It sounds like he is in a world of trouble and we can't have that hanging over the club.

It was incredible timing really, is that three days after his contract expired?

Why was an extension even being considered/discussed. Sickening.

And the timing is very questionable too. Days after his contract expired, the charges are announced.

Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Chelsea winger Noni Madueke ahead of a possible move for the England international.

An agreement between the Premier League teams is yet to be reached but 23-year-old Madueke is believed to be open to moving across London should the clubs strike a deal.

Multiple sources are indicating that while there is yet to be a club-to-club agreement with regards to a transfer fee, there is a sense from all parties that a deal is possible.

Chelsea are understood to be aware of Arsenal's interest in Madueke but the Gunners are still to make a formal approach for the attacker.

Yeah read this before and think it’s spot on.

Yes. I feel quite strongly about this and the entire situation has really floored me since the reports were confirmed. Whilst I understand the legal implications of this, still however it’s a shocking reflection on the club.

Aubameyang exited for his transgressions and arriving back in London late from visiting his sick mother was the final straw. A long term kitman for Arsenal was sacked for speaking out about the genocide in Gaza. Ozil left high and dry for speaking about the plight of Muslims in China. Visit Rwanda sponsorship remains on the club’s shirt.

Non negotiables hey? Yet Partey was arrested and questioned 7 times in 3 years and kept playing whilst on bail. ****ing hell.

And for all of the legal challenges, the expiration of his contract was almost the perfect “out” for Arsenal. Allow those contractual obligations to cease of their own volition and part ways. Yet, somehow, the leadership and executives thought to offer a fresh contract extension? Wtf is going on? It’s appalling and they deserve all the scrutiny and grilling they’ve got coming their way.

Can’t say I understand this one on face value. I don’t believe he’s the upgrade on the left that Arsenal are seeking, and Nwaneri can be the natural choice on the right as deputy for Saka. Won’t exactly be a cut price deal either, Chelsea always sell well and he’s contracted for the long term. Let’s see.

Yeah, very fishy his charge being announced after the expiry of his contract.

And the fact club wanted to renew too is concerning, and I am sure they knew he was guilty.

I said it at the time when it all broke - I managed to have a chance to read the message exchange between one of the victims and him, and it was damning.

I appreciate texts doesn't necessarily= evidence or an admission of guilt in his part. But **** me.

If signing him leads to Nwaneri leaving I will use my powers of being Judd2Sewell on the internet to get #sackBerta trending.

I still feel Nwaneri will renew, he’s been away at the u21 tournament and thus it’s taking more time in the background. He and his representatives probably seeking clarification from the club where his pathway remains, as Arsenal are continually linked with a number of forward signings as we’re all aware.

I don't see why we can't use Nwaneri as a backup for both Odegaard and Saka. He was quite impactful playing wide and cutting in into his left.

Nwaneri can rotate with both and play some of the cup competitions.

Madueke is a left footed right winger, who loves to cut in onto his left. IMO he will absolutely be taking game-time off Nwaneri.

If we lock Nwaneri down then it's all good - so long as Madueke doesn't mean no Eze or another better LW option (if there are any viable ones).

Were they as damning as the Mason Greenwood voice recordings?

Nah, the Greenwood photos and recordings were much much worse.

It was more the reaction of complete indifference from Partey as the victim was asking why he did what he did - which was put his knob in her mouth whilst she was sleeping.

I guess this is why I find the whole issue a bit skewed from a club perspective. Greenwood was guilty, dead to rights. Couldn't imagine him getting off. Yet, he did.

I feel in today's social climate, the presumption of innocence is more important than ever. If he's found guilty, I hope they castrate him. But until then, I don't feel the club has anything to answer for.

I'd be more interested in why it has taken 3 years for the MET to charge him. I mean, is that normal?
