End of season is end of season, and clearly there will be a new set of players leaving to replace, and a new set available for purchase to replace them with, but it would take some real quantum thinking to criticise Arsene for a transfer window that hasn't happened yet.

When we didn't get Ba? We kept Bendtner instead. Not much of a difference really, aside from the attitude problem.

When we didn't get Suarez? That was a colossal mess that was never our fault or under our control.

When we didn't get Higuain? Yes we messed that up as a consequence of Suarez. We used the money to get Ozil instead.

Coasta's chelsea bound, will fit right in with the rest of the campaigners.

Benzema, Cavani(possibly), Balotelli and Mandzukic will be the only good or in Cavani's case world class strikers available.

Why are you sure Costa won't be available?

I'm not right in your mind. I'm not alone in my doubts about Wenger. You don't have to become condescending because I disagree with you.

You're obviously an AKB, I am not. We disagree, it's fine. But you don't have to be a campaigner about it.

I'd just like to read one football thread today that doesn't feature you having a massive and repeated whine about us not signing anyone you wanted.

So one off the cuff post semi taking the piss refers to "massive and repeated whine". OK.

And again, you don't have to be an arseh*le.

Exactly. No need for the agitation. Because signing an injured bloke to cover injured players is a masterstroke.

Try the weekend EPL thread, and the endless posts about signing Fa Kin No Wan every time an opening springs up.

We get it, he hates our transfer policy, but it's ever so slightly more constructive to discuss who we could/should/may sign than to make the same mildly racist joke in a high pitched voice every week.

Glen generally makes that joke.

I made it once, and it was today.

But hey, we're all wrong at times. This time it was you.

You're coming off right now as a person who was looking for an argument and didn't want a bar of me no matter if I had a point or not.

Blame me for that, that's my fault. It's never been raised as an issue thus far so wasn't aware it caused annoyance or agitation like this. Duly noted though, I won't post it again.

For what it's worth though, I thought the suggestions made in this thread from cruyff was constructive. Ozil was quite simply a coup and a brilliant signing, no one can deny that. But we did fail to strengthen where needed, at CF, and instead we were resigned to retaining Bentdner due to inability to do what was necessary. We are also just one injury away to Per or Kos and being back in Vermaelen territory. I accept though its difficult to have 3 first class center halves in a squad at once.

The criticism of Wenger's socialist wage system is justified and was a hindrance in our transfer dealing in recent years. Thankfully though that was addressed in the summer last year when we moved on players who added little value despite absorbing considerable wages.

A world class centre forward is still required next season I believe.

Just on Ozil, has he really justified his price tag? The boost to squad morale was huge, but on performance, he has disappointed me.

His first game at Sunderland was magnificent. Was it all on adrenalin?

When the going gets tough especially, Ozil is the first one to go missing when he should be the one to step up and make the difference.

Huge two months for him.

The singing of Ozil on deadline day masks how shambolic the August window was.

The signing happening on deadline day was caused entirely by Daniel Levy holding up the Bale procession for as long as possible. Not even remotely to do with us, unless you subscribe to the theory he did it precisely to stop us signing a target before the Derby. Continuing to blame anyone at Arsenal for that id idiotic.

As for Ozil, I think he's been pretty good in his first season, nobody is ever outstanding in their first campaign after moving from Europe. True test of his value is going to come next year when we find out whether he can move up to the next level and stay there for the whole year.

Ozil is not a player who controls a game. He is someone who drifts in and out of it and will pop up with a moment of brilliance to change the game.

Signing a world class CAM was just as important.

Vermaelen may not be as good as Per or Kos but he is still a good defender and would be a starter at every other top club bar Chelsea. Vermaelen territory comes of very harsh.
