8 for Bellerin?
lol.
Ramsey killed him on the right though. About as defensively reliable as Poorcott.
Elneny only a 5 is ridiculous.
Ramsey would be on about a 0 if he didn't score, I admit it was fantastically taken but he was garbage up until then.
On the right he's better but he exposes Bellerin, CM he is average because he can't track back and he's just a little girl.
Rather him not play at all but Wenger will tug the lil Welshman off as he is a favourite of his.

Regardless of the result in the context of the season, it was refreshing to see Arsenal play with a bit of heart again, even if just from an entertainment point of view. It has been painful to watch Arsenal pretty much all of 2016 because of how poorly we have been playing coupled with the poor results. In the past we have seen Arsenal play brilliantly and lose or scrape through a hard fought win but lately many of the players have looked like they have just been going through the motions - as has been pointed out repeatedly on here.

I have to admit I nearly spat the dummy after that 5 minute spell of Coq being sent off and their two goals, because I expected spurs to run all over us. So just to fight back from there and earn a point was satisfying and enjoyable despite the fact that it was a poor result in the context of a season that seems to be repeatedly written off after every game.

I did. Was very therapeutic.

The way our players are talking about a point though shows how we lack ambition as a club, reality is we needed a win.

Not much else to be done after Coquelin demonstrated just how much the long vacancy before him caused people to overrate how good he is.

What we demonstrably need in June is:
  1. High quality starting right wing, young right to develop in the cups, to replace Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain
  2. 3x deep lying central midfielders to replace Rossicky, Arteta and Ramsey
  3. 2x CDM to push Coquelin to the bench, and replace Flamini
  4. 2x Centrebacks to replace Mertesacker and Gabriel
  5. 1x Right Back to replace Debuchy in the squad
Good luck getting all that done in one transfer window.

One high-quality RM is a necessity. If we hold onto most of Ox, Walcott, Welbeck and Campbell then we won't be signing another. Especially considering Wenger's penchant of playing Ramsey there.

This is excessive. 1 DM (Krychowiak or similar) and 1 CM (Isco...convert him ala Cazorla?) is all we need here. Coquelin is good enough to be the bench DM option, and a group of Krychowiak, Coquelin and Elneny would give us that spine/strength/dynamism we need in deep midfield. Elneny has shown enough to prove he can be relied on here.

Cazorla will likely see out his contract while Wilshere will definitely be persisted with. Isco would be a solid creative signing who we could mould ala Cazorla, but can only see that happening if Cazorla is sold.

1 CB and 1 RB will suffice. The CB must be starting quality. Gabriel is good enough as backup, and Chambers as 4th CB is fine. The RB has to be decent yet content with a spot on the bench - a Trippier-type would be sufficient.

Good luck getting all that done in one transfer window.

1 RM, DM, CM, CB and RB. Sign quality in these positions and we can probably make do with Giroud and Welbeck up front. But considering that at least 3 of these 5 positions will require a minimum £20mil signing, I can't see Wenger getting it done.

Wenger signed Gabriel 14 months ago. Considering the age profile of our starting CBs (Per in particular) there's absolutely no way he would be sold or replaced. He's in the squad to stay for the conceivable future. Also, he's not as poor as some have made out. He was rushed back from injury to play against United and for the most part his first year in the league has been solid.

Considering the major surgery required to our midfield, keeping Gabriel as a backup CB is fine.

This, no way we turf him at this point in time.

He's the next Djourou, Senderos, Silvestre, et al. We'll keep him for quite a few years yet out of inertia, but he's still not good enough. He thinks too slowly for the premier league, never mind how frequently he ****s up his positioning, and he's even worse than Mertesacker with the ball at his feet. His preferred method is to take 6 touches that decrease in distance and speed, before putting in a panicked 8 yard slow pass to a midfielder or fullback who has already been closed down.

What's the more pressing issue? Having a raw and at-times rash Gabriel as a backup CB, or having a starting midfield that is injury prone, physically weak, positionally poor, imbalanced and impotent?

If I was in charge, I know where I'd be focusing our attention and funds. Our midfield needs 3 changes to the starting XI alone and that is the obvious priority.

It doesn't need to happen. If we bring in a world-class (or close to it) CB to partner Koscielny, we'd be looking at Gabriel taking part in 10-15 games across a whole season.

Upgrading Mertesacker is something that needs to happen. Gabriel is fine as a backup.

When given a consistent run at it and a chance to gain confidence Gabriel has looked fine and the results that we saw earlier in the year speak for themselves. The problem is after his red card against Chelsea we've rarely seen him, especially in the PL/CL, which you're never going to be able to become a regular feature in the side if you don't get the opportunity to develop an understanding with your fellow centreback and right/left back.

Personally I don't think he will develop in a starting centre back especially given we can't afford to play Gabriel and Coquelin together as they limit our ability to play out from the back but in terms of back ups you won't find many better out there. Which leads me to say that I think Wenger should fight Chelsea and United for Stones and trump their offer. You could argue he isn't worth the fee it would cost and he is over rated but he will be a center piece of the team for 10 plus years and is very very capable of playing out of the back.
