We have flashed the cash, i ****ing love it, obviously the proof will be in the pudding, fingers crossed that giroud/podolski are not chamakh/bendtner incarnate. Cazorla is a walk up start, he and Micky A are going to run the freaking show. I'm confident boys, the drought is about to end.

4-0 win overnight. Pretty strong lineups we put out, vermaelen captained the team and RvP only played 20 minutes as a second half sub

lovely run and finish from gervinho, good to see

the reception for RvP was icy from all reports

Ox is out of england squad apparently injured:thumbsdown:.

And Sahin is if you believe the rumours going to sign with a premier league club this week. Spurs, Liverpool and us are the teams interested though Sahin has said he wants to play champions league. So we could have another player on the way.

Not sure what to make f these sahin rumors. You'd think he would only be loaned out if Madrid sign modric. Would be great if we landed him

We sold to united, unbelievable. Oh well, f#ck off Robin.

And now Wenger says we won't recruit replacements because we already have. Last week he said they were bought to play alongside him, not to replace him. One of the best media trolls going around is Wenger :thumbsu:

Anyway, the squad looks stronger than it has in years. One or two more signings like sahin, sell the likes of bendtner and its still an excellent summer's work

Lads, well can't say I thought it would happen and I've lost all respect for Robin. We cannot forget that Robin has had 18 months of good form, after years and years of injury-plagued football, this is why 24M pounds for a 29 year old striker is good business. We must have faith in Wenger, the guy knows the market and he knows when to sell. Similarly, it's seems that Alex Song is on his way out to Barca, whilst I feel he should give Hleb a call and found out how it all went for him, I'm sure he'll have a great time being Busquets' backup. There's a lot of talk of Song having a horrible attitude and becoming a bit too self-absorbed.

In my opinion, our signings this summer still outweigh our departures - Cazorla is two times the player that Song would ever be, and Giroud and Poldi can cover the hole which RvP has left. So have faith in Arsene, and laugh at Ferguson as RvP gets injured in the first six weeks.

the last 4 captains:

vieira - sold to juve 2005
henry - sold to barca 2007
cesc - sold to barca last year
RvP - sold to united

song looking likely to exit. never understood these barca rumours, good footballer yes but not good enough to start for barca. if these attitude rumours are true, then show him the door if he wants to go.

m'vila would be very welcome, so would sahin. not sure if we'll sign another striker, wenger appears to be satisfied with giroud/podolski. would love another defender though, remains to be seen what we do with the ~23m pounds for RvP

If we don't sign anyone after selling RvP and Song, we won't do anything again this season. New guys will probably need to adapt as well. Cazorla is a good player, but we will see if he can handle the physical league that is the EPL. Oh I forgot, Diaby is back. "Like a new signing" right? Wilshere still injured, but when he's back - another new signing! Oh Wenger you know it all.

Song was great with his creativity last season you can't lie, RvP being obvious as the league top scorer - not gonna be easy at all to replace them. Don't think Giroud/Podolski will cover his loss. Sorry to be very negative but its the same story every season. Last chance for Wenger to win something. I hope I am wrong of course.

Making him captain probably will make him actually world class, scores 20 odd this season and then leaves to City, Utd or Barca.
What else do you think we are going to do in the window? If Song goes, surely we will replace him? I understand the reasons we may not replace RvP, but I reckon next season we probably will end up needing to. I just don't see Podolski and Giroud being 20 a year type players. Maybe 20 between them but we need someone that can get 20 on their own.
Got proven wrong last season but that was because RvP ran riot and now he's gone - who's turn is it to step up?

Few people still need to be sold as well I think. Any word in Squillaci, Chamakh etc?
One more injury to Diaby and I hope we let him go, he's never been that great, he's not exactly young and hes injury prone. Release him or whatever. I'd be happy if we did it now but I am sure Wenger will give him another go.
