Look, I'll take a point from this game.

Rest some players and play this team ...

Szczesny
Jenkinson - Mertesacker - Vermaelen - Monreal
Flamini - Frimpong
Gnabry - Ramsey - Wilshere
Walcott
Fabianski, Koscielny, Sagna, Gibbs, Ozil, Miyaichi, Akpom

Need more than a point I'm afraid. We really need to beat OM home and away if we're going to go through this group. Both Napoli and Dortmund look very good domestically.

Exactly, as I said in the champions league thread, we can't afford to 'rest' players.

We need 6 points from our fixtures vs Marseille. The great and euphoric purchase of Ozil on deadline day shouldn't mask the fact that we failed overall to purchase the depth needed in the squad. We had this coming unfortunately but need to hold the fort these next couple of weeks as Arteta, Podolski are apparently on track for an early October return.

If that is how we line up we wont get anywhere near a point!!! 3-0 loss.

Frimpong and Gnabry are not with the squad, however Isacc Hayden and Akpom are. Though Gnabry is probably with the U19's for their champions league game.

Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Ramsey, Wilshere, Ozil*, Walcott, Flamini, Giroud*, Akpom, Hayden, Miyaichi, Fabianski, Monreal, Vermaelen, Jenkinson.

* = injury clouds. Options are quite thin if Ozil & Giroud aren't fit to play.

Agreed RE Depth, we really should have done more on that front in the transfer window. However, this is exacerbated by the fact that we have 6-7 injuries to first teamers at the moment.

Cazorla
Rosicky
Arteta
Vermaelen (just coming back)
Monreal (just coming back)
Podolski
AOC

As it stands, both our LW and back-up ST options are out injured, our back up RW is injured, our first choice anchor CM is injured.

What is with this god awful away strip? Blue and yellow stripes?

Nevermind just the warmup strip

Arsenal

Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Flamini, Ramsey, Walcott, Wilshere, Ozil, Giroud.

Subs: Fabianski, Vermaelen, Monreal, Jenkinson, Miyaichi, Akpom, Hayden

Wow what a young bench!

OM playing with a very high line, Walcott getting in behind twice now.

Might have to mute the TV though, 60,000 people whistling is annoying as hell to listen to.

Valbuena is playing well and looking dangerous.

First Half -

Arsenal looking bland in attack. Ozil isn't really having much of an influence.

Marseille getting forward but our defence is doing well.

Wow game really opening up now, space everywhere!

Holy crap! Mert and Wojo go full ****** and Gibbs has to clear a certain goal off the line.

OM are damn fast and cutting through our midfield

Update

GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL WALCOTT great volley!

o-1 Arsenal!

Update

GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL RAMSAY!!!!!!!!!!

0-2

Update

Pen OM

1-2 Bullshit Pen with virtually the last kick of the game.

Ramsay got the ball first but the OM player swan dives to make sure its given.

GAME OVER

1-2 Arsenal.

We'll take that.

Rambo is unstoppable right now. Glad Theo converted his chance, first goal of the season for him and hopefully the kick start he needs to get amongst it now.

10 away wins in a row now, that's a hell of a stat. With the injuries in the squad at the moment, three points this morning is a great outcome.

Napoli won at home vs Dortmund. Haven't seen any footage from that but from all reports was a cracking game. If we can hold the fort at home and continue getting points on the road in Europe, will go a long way towards getting out if the group stage.

Yeah would like to see more of Ryo/Ryu before judging. But yeah, not backing guys like Hayden (who I honestly don't know a thing about) and Akpom etc has nothing to do with lack of faith. Its very difficult to assess these kids when we don't really have anything meaningful to go off. I guess we'll see more of them once the league cup starts.
