We don't have a big enough squad in terms of quality or depth, so I guess we had no choice but to play a number of first team players. Giroud coming on late was the biggest concern, imagine if he went down with injury?
Anyway, Mata's goal was brilliant. What a footballer. Ba, Luiz, Essien, Willian, Mata as part of their 'second' XI is hard to compete against.

Anyway, a massive few weeks coming up. Doesn't appear that there were any fresh injuries this morning which is good news. Flamini out for the Liverpool & Dortmund games is the biggest blow. Having Arteta back on deck is handy.
I see Dench is back in the headlines. Wenger said he was actually selected in the squad, but withdrew because of illness.

Thank god we're out of that cup. It's a needless distraction until our list is healthy. Much rather strengthen in January and focus on the FA Cup if we must take a domestic trophy seriously.

I could understand Cazorla and Wilshere playing. Both are well rested.
But why the **** were Ramsey, Ozil and Giroud involved? With a very tough month to come, when does Wenger expect to rest them?

Bendtner and Jenko were horrible this morning. Ryo looked like he couldn't give a heck being out there. Was expecting a hell of a lot more out of these blokes, you'd think they would've been desperate to show something. What happened to the Italian slayer from a couple of weeks ago?

Yeah Jenko was shocking this morning. Though he's player who needs a run of games to find his touch which is fine if he was first choice but as back up you have to be ready from the off. Starting to think that we should look to bring in a new back up right back at seasons end (january if possible) who can when called upon deliver from the off and is better technically than Jenko who looks very awkward on the ball. I would then loan Jenko out to get experience cause once he gets experience he will start to look more comfortable on the ball and once he gets that down pat he can become a very good right back as he has the physical attributes to do so.
Martin Montaya contract expires at the end of this season so I would be trying to get him to sign a pre-contract.

Jenkinson is not good enough for Arsenal. He cannot header a ball.

The only way to compete in this league is to spend and then spend again, and then maybe spend some more.

Being on top is fantastic at the moment however as we know, things can change very quickly. The major concern was our failure to secure another quality striker during the transfer window, which is critical for a sustained title challenge. Not sure on Podolski's return date yet so we just have to hope Giroud can maintain his fitness and form.
It's not necessarily about being big spenders, it's about having sufficient coverage within our squad. ie, the loan deal for Ba could've been finalized before deadline day.
FA Cup probably still represents the best chance for silverware, can be very difficult to predict. There's always surprises and upsets from teams in lower leagues. Who knows how that will pan out.
We won't win the Champions League but am quietly confident of getting through the group. Obviously next week's results will be telling.
I think we can handle this mob, obviously Suarez is going to be almost impossible to stop, might be a case of if they score 3 we'll score 4.
Suarez and Sturridge in superb form. Have enjoyed watching them play this season, obviously a concern for us without Flamini's presence to assist in containing them. Hopefully it's Ramsey and Arteta in CM, Wilshere partnering Ramsey just hasn't worked this season so far. Predicting a score draw, 2-2 or perhaps 3-3 again.

Yeah it's just a suggestion and Wilshere on the bench is the most likely outcome tomorrow morning.
Ramsey should be in the centre, Wilshere on the bench, Rosicky on the right and Santi on the left.
Agreed cruyffy, hard to drop Ramsey for a big game like this given his season so far. Wilshere's form has been patchy.
