I think I bought my right to be smug for a few hours now. :) But in all seriousness, I've been waiting for Cilic to claim a big scalp for over a year now. Just about given up. Especially given how he was losing to nobodies in first and second rounds for a while there.

(I'm still waiting for Gulbis to claim a big scalp ...)

Yes, this is a cakewalk for Federer, should win this easily.

Shame for Oudin, all a bit much today and the matchup doesn't suit her at all, Wozinacki's pushing style of tennis was perfect for her. Wozinacki will make the final now.

Djoko was very patchy again and so was Verdasco, 5-5 in the 3rd at 1 set all and Verdasco collapsed. Positive sign for Djoko, he's serving well, he'll ened that against Roger.
 
Federer's serving once again has won him the match. After the first 2 sets it was a very close match. Soderling is getting closer to beating fed but it also says to me that no matter what people say federer is not at that invincible level he once was. Djokovic has found form at the right time the last couple of weeks and will take it right up to fed.
 
The quality of those last two sets :thumbsu: Soderling really stepped it up and made for some great tennis, that was the tennis he was playing against Nadal at the FO in that 3rd set TB. Pity Soderling did collapse there at the end after having set points in the 4th but good to see a match like that was made out of the start that it had.

I can't see Djoko beating him in the semis. Espically if he keeps serving like that.
 
Can't wait to get home and watch the last two sets of Federer v Soderling. The stats say Federer played pretty well but was still pushed by Soderling.

The second half of men's quarterfinals look great. :)

So its "weird" because its not english? I was commenting because you made the comment about them pronouncing it "wrong". Not everyname is english...

Congrtulations on bringing up an argument about football. Don't speak out of school next time, I'm not saying you have to know the origins of the surname or anything, but don't make stupid comments.

Wozniacki's game has quickly become tiresome, it's the same every match, just push, push, push. Really frustrating to watch; her looks don't make up for her lack of a remotely entertaining game.

Djokovic, well I was merely frustrated big time during the AO because I was extremely confident he would beat Roddick. Gets up a set, then starts to fade and then eventually pull the pin. I was too angry to say anything I really meant. Djokovic is my favourite. :thumbsu:

Anyway, All I want to say is, Djokovic vs Nadal final please.

Would be fantastic to watch.

Also, fantastic to see that djokovic has seemingly taken his finger out of his arse and is generally playing how he should be playing. Please keep the finger out against fed.

I thought about that potential final too and wow, wouldn't it be an absolute classic! Nadal v Djokovic matches are all of the highest quality with intense rallies and they both bring out the best in one another. On the faster courts of the US Open I'd give the edge to Djokovic but it would be amazing to watch.

Here's hoping Novak can pull off a massive upset.

Del Potro's a player who's only recently come on as being a big threat. In a few of their earlier matches Del Potro looked very out of sorts. But he pushed Federer in a very tight five setter in the Roland Garros semis this year, which suggests he's mentally capable of taking on the big guns. Add to that the fact that he's had a very good hardcourt season, then I think it's possible. If Federer's at his absolute best, I'm sure del Potro would still get blown off court. But if Federer's just a little bit off, then it could be an exciting match.

Having said all that, I'm just a huge FedKAD and del Potro pulls at my heartstrings. :D

why the hell is play suspended for nadal's match?

not good considering his is the last of the quarters to be played

i wanna see djokovic vs nadal final, partly because itll be the two best players of their age group facing off
 
Sif you guys want Djokovic vs Nadal.

Federer vs Nadal matches are epic.
