I thought Ballantyne was pretty ordinary tbh.
Didn't have a lot of impact on the stats, but was at a lot of contests to put pressure on the ball carrier. The guy uses his body like a wrecking ball and I wish more of our players would bring that sort of intensity to a game.

Agree, was solid.

Kicked our first as well as the sealer too. I think Ballas has come a long way, in the past when he's had down games (and IMO that's what Sunday was) he'd have no influence whatsoever apart from forward pressure. Impey did a masterful job on him but at least he was able to hit the scoreboard at important times.

Quite enjoyed watching that game again, surprising given it was pretty sloppy for the most part and the umps were all over the place. Anyway, haven't changed my mind too much on who I thought were the best players:

3. Pav
3. DPearce
2. Fyfe
2. Mundy (that last quarter was the bomb)
2. Spurr
1. Duffman (a bit inconspicuous, but when he had to be he was clean and deliberate. I thought he was quietly one of our better players)
1. Clancee (not sure if he fully deserves it, but up until the last quarter I thought he did a pretty good job on Boak which was important)

Honourable mentions:
- Clarke, what he did he did well, just needs to do bit more of it
- Elvis, professional as usual, job done.
- Sandi, Ryder has used his athleticism to take him out of the game before and did similar in this game, but he was still very good in the clearances and at certain moments. That brain fade play on effort was a stinker though.
- Walters, quiet, but the few chances he got to influence the game he did really well - would have had a couple more goals with an ounce more luck.
- Balla, worked really really hard, but those hands were covered in soap when he needed to be clean. But, as the above posts have said, still did his job when he had to.

I was bored and threw up a tongue in cheek post. Balla was quiet but popped up when we needed him. It certainly wasn't his worst game.

Hey Agenfrida, speaking of your votes, I'm starting to enter the data now, I'm assuming yours is a donkey vote so wont count ... just so you're not disappointed when Suban isn't declared the Round 1 MVP.

Yeah, my real vote was cast earlier.

Sorry Moo, hate to admit my ignorance here, but 'Sheets'? Can't say I've heard that one. Care to elaborate? :)

Ahh, yes or course. Very good.

And once, again, last call ... feel free to use cryptic nicknames just to make my life interesting (and remind me why trying to write an automatic parser to do the counting involved too much stuffing around :D)

5. D Pearce - possibly best game I have seen from him
4. N Fyfe - too big too strong
3. D Mundy - would not have got a vote until that last quarter - but what a last quarter
2. L Mc Pharlin - simply shut done one of the most dangerous forwards who never misses
1. T Sheridan - Adds so much run to our team

Near miss to Pav of course who could easily have been in my best
