It takes the average person about 3 seconds to prove you wrong.

You're a prime reason that players think this place is populated with little more than f*ckwits.
Teffy the resident idiot thinking he can prove anyone wrong is amusing

As usual to much is left to , to few.

I’ll leave the kids out of it turner unsighted again , Jed is a hardass but he plays midfield and needs to get the ball more , Jack is similar to Jed and don’t think we’ll get anywhere with these guys in the team.
Goldy is a letdown in so many games where he is expected to dominate
Lmac and Jmac can’t defend and that’d be ok if they were great creators off half back but they aren’t.

Really need to delist or trade out the guys the continually let the club down.
Doing the same thing over n over an expecting a different outcome is a sign of insanity
We won’t get anywhere with guys like Jed and Jack in the team? Good one.

We’ve had a lot of players show how good they can be for the past five games, and a lot of them were quieter in this one. And we still did everything but win. I don’t think Brady’s first job will be a fire sale of players whose output was down yesterday.

No, no, no H2H.

They all instantly turned in to crap players in the last 30 seconds of yesterdays match.

Get with the program!

Here me now folks, play Tarryn Thomas as a half back next year.

Lol at supporters trying to justify the lose against individuals. Hopeless
I know that I ought to check out for a while because I'm not being as objective as I should (regarding umpiring) but while I'm in a reasonable frame of mind... I think we ought to be focusing on the change in direction that the team has taken over the past few weeks, and recognise that despite the improvements, there is still a way to go to reach a point where that improvement is reflected across the entire list and not just the top six or eight.

We still have a few blokes who are not up to the standard (either in strength, skill, endurance, intensity and whatever else). No doubt a few also go into games with niggles or minor injuries that limit them. Some are developing, and some will never be more than fringe players.

Blaming individuals is harsh. Recognising that there were some individual decisions or executions that were costly is constructive. I think we Recognise that the current coach deserves more time to deal with this, and that so far, he and his team have shown that there was far more capability in the North list than most outsiders gave us credit for.

I hope I can keep it together and get over the umpire bashing, but there could have been any one of a dozen or more decisions that went the other way and instead of commiserations, this would be a thread of celebrating.

In SCAMPER we trust.

GO NORTH!!!!

The pace they have at half back is mighty impressive and they sure know how to use it. Really sets them up. We have Ats I guess but would be good to have someone with some serious wheels on the other side once Higgins comes back. Maybe Polec or Hall could go back there?

We need at least one, probably two more mids with speed. Dumont on a wing is an Achilles heel because he is so slow. He plays ok but a quicker player would influence more.

Walker is one hope on the list but pretty slim picking after that. Crocker might as the HB pace we are after, but still lack real speed in the forward line.

That's the glaring issue.

Crocker will be a tweener mate (3rd tall defender).

Diassapointing last 30 seconds.
Dominant first q , momentum was going to shift eventually.
Essendon converted badly in the second, 3rd quarters, they could have made the margin unattainable.
We locked them down in the last which is the north we have become accustomed to over the last 4 weeks.

We were;
Hammered in centre clearances.
Hammered at the stoppages.
Mid problem as our greatest strength was not present, that's a double whammy.
No individual issues there, it's a collective.

When you look at the outs and ins, it is clear the disharmony created unbalance. Taylor, Jmac, hrovat.

Garner, wood, durdin, LDU.

Depth is on a knives edge.

Jmac was 5-10 metres behind his opponent several times. Unacceptable.
He had a moment in the third to redeem himself and could have run at the ball and man running with the flight of the footy, chose to bluff instead
Hrovat moved away from contact at every opportunity.

This shit doesn't cut it for the hard north team we need to be and have been the last 4 weeks.
I thought Jmac had an opportunity to redeem himself, under a new coach but failed miserably.
More hardness less softness.

I'd like to see us train Zurhaar for some stints in the middle and then rotate him with Cunners when Cunners is being held.

Renember when we used to win the close ones under Laidley?
Seems like we've had a decade of losses like last night when games go down to the wire, Dogs game last year aside, for whatever reason.
Sure there is an element of luck, but I'd love to be able to watch the last two minutes and celebrate what we did right, rather than rue all the things we did wrong.

Swans at Docklands last year... geepers

2013 was it where we lost 549 games by under a goal

Your right; we haven’t had the rub of luck in close games

Even the Dogs win was sheer luck. We blew it and a howling error let us back in. It was hardly a triumph of leadership and composure.

That last set of plays was pure chaos luck that could have faltered at each of the plays to get it up to that Goal

We need to find 2-3 quality mids. It’s that simple. Ideally a few with speed to burst away. Not as worried about half back. Pittard is fine off half back but yesterday with Durdin out he was forced to play big and it robbed us of his run and link play. Jmac unfortunately isn’t elite in a particular category this can’t be played any longer. Not fast, not tough, not skilled. He is also not a bad player. He just isn’t a good fit for north right now. A fit Higgins and Hall would have solved all the problems. I see Thomas, Simpkin and LDU all improving next year as mids. We need some tinkering and some better luck with injuries. I am not to fussed about making finals.

Poley was great. He came to us with the polish, and now we're infusing the Shinboner. There was a little passage in the 1st where he took possession and then did an extra little angry fend-off for good measure, and I loved it. It was shades of that time Maj got angry and did the uncharacteristic lash-out. I also thought his last Quarter repeat efforts really stood out.

Speaking of Maj, how great is it that we've now got a Forward line with enough mix to it that we'll no longer have to rely on swinging him up there when he comes back? We can just slot him down back and let him clunk intercept marks all day long. Him and Taz, in stereo!

Ben Brown is an elite athlete. Nice to hear the commentators talk that up all night long, instead of making tired jokes about his run-ups. Thanks for noticing, you idiots. Not sure what more BBB has to do to get people to notice just how freaking hard he works out there for all 4 Quarters, and consistently, but he was BOG last night by a country mile, and geez it was great to see him with the old BBB marking hands all night, and flying up for the ball. On top of all the other stuff he gets done.

Also speaking of commentators, thank you to Marley for keeping Fantasia out of the game so that they couldn't wail out his name. It was hard enough dealing with all the fawning over Stringer. God, what a nauseating part of the night.

The Rat was good. He wasn't Wood, but he was in good Rat form, and played his role.

Young Curtis cracked in. The kid has no fear. Ran his guts out to get to contests, not afraid put his body on the line. He fits.

Am worried about Larkey's heart, even though they're downplaying it. Please be okay Larks.

Anyways, up yours *scum. We'll get you next year.

The bookends both were outstanding last night, possibly the best game I have seen Ben Brown play. Much of what was between them wasn't great.

Cunnington and the coaching staff need to find ways to disrupt the hard tag. One tactic would be for him to not focus on the ball but run hard as he can at the opposition's best centre stoppage player, taking his tagger with him, and hopefully leaving a two on one in North's favor contesting the ball.

More midfield depth and pace would be ideal and should be a consideration at the selection table this week.

Kayne Turner has now had a total of 15 possessions and 4 tackles in the last two matches. Simply not enough and I would be dropping him.

Curtis Taylor has shown in his two games he has potential and has a real crack, he is just not physically ready for AFL football. Get a big pre-season into him but that is probably enough seniors for this year.

JMac was JMac. Did some good things, wasn't hard at it, most of his kicks were high, long bombs, and his effort to tackle Stringer in Q1 was very weak.

Hrovat did some nice things ball in hand, especially early in the game. Not sure how good he is off the ball or how hard at it he is.

Ahern did some really good things ball in hand. His pass to Hrovat in Q1 that led to BBB's first goal was elite. Didn't get enough of the ball though.

At a minimum next week I would drop Taylor and Turner and bring in Wood and LDU.

With some astute recruiting and natural development we are not at all that far off though.

Far closer than them to a serious finals run.

Love ya SLF but don't like this mentality. We lost and denouncing the prospects of the opponent just reeks of poor sportsmanship.

Right now they're more in touch with finals than us. Them' s the facts.
