Just because we dont have any AFL footy (well eagles wise) on this weekend, dosnt mean there is no real footy action

Well, we have another interesting set of fixtures this week with 1 playing 2, so they will open up a 1 game gap on the others, while EF and Swans get another chance to put a game between WP, or catch 1 more up. All traditional Satruday games again.
Tigers v Sharks - this could be a very interesting match, with the Tigers and Sharks both showing improved form over the past few games. Tigers will retain their AFL players and Sharks probably won't regain any in the second week of the AFL split round. Think the U18 players might be released for this round as well, as their next fixture is 27th June, so Sharks may regain some there. Sibosado gets another chance to impress at the League level, looking a very likely mover from the previos game I saw. B Jones, Wilkes, Thomson form quite a solid back line with prolific ball winners in Blackwell, Jackson, Crabb and Jarvis, alongside McGinnity, Rudeforth, Stevenson the Tigers have a potent enough midfield. Then C Jones and Richardson up forward with Sibosado and they look like a team that should be sitting higher than the bottom of the table. The Sharks will rely on their run like against Souths and presumably Peel. Houlihan has been in a rare vein of form, Dalby knocks up getting the ball, Hardingham is the leading FB in the comp, IMO, McCarrey, well he's just a handful at this level. Throw in Fasolo (x2), possibly Lucas, Sheppard, as well as Green, Basile, Dunn - regaining top touch, Bongiascia, Leslie, Davidson and Hall and this should be one cracking match. Don't know why, but Tigers?
Royals v Peel - coming off a few disappointing matches Micale will be trying to fire up the Royals, Peel will be trying to gain that game back from EF and remain a game or so out of the 4. Royals will have the service of McKinley, to help Noakes up forward again, but will seek a better output from him. The Royals running brigade isn't too bad, with Cowell, Humm, Byrne, Travers, Wulff, Hancock, Eastwell and Clarke. Peels runners aren't too bad either with Rosa, Schofield, Bloxsidge, Ware, Morabito?, Arrowsmith. Defenses for both are solid and forward lines OK, with Peels marginally stronger. Expect the Royals to come out fired up but Peel to overcome them.
Swans v Perth - can the Swans put the Demons season to an end? Cannot afford to lose this one but then the Demons will want to continue an upward form trend. Real danger game for Swans and because of the earlier loss this one makes me nervous. Swans won't have Naita, so Spaanders is back to going it alone, with relief from Notte it seems. Hansen will be up forward, but will need crumbers at his feet because once it hits the deck it's like he's on stilts. Jetta, Wolfenden, Robinson, Twomey, Roberts and Lange will have to work their backsides off against K-T, Moody, Butler, Ruffles, Sullivan, Jones, Cook and Ferguson up forward should be a real challenge for Ames. Hopefully Swans can get their vaunted running game going for more than a quarter this week and jsut pip the demons at the post.
MOTR - Souths v Subi - last time on a Friday night at Leederville it was Subi's biggest loss in years, can the same happen again? Souths should have Murphy and Wilson, on his last couple of games form, should be far too good for Parker (how he got a sate guernsey has me stumped). Rumble still goes OK, so these 2 will need to stretch the defense. Throw the Wiz in and I think we've got a stretched defense. Stack had the best game I've ever seen him play last week, can he back it up and take the Wiz out? In the middle Rix gets thrown straight into the mix and was servicable. Randall made a huge difference in the middle last week, whilst Read was unusually outside. Cockie goes hard, Hildebrandt and Webb need to be accountable (don't do a Swans and let them roam at their whim), the Hams brothers are just the 2 for the job. Maplestone had his best game of the year last week, so Wilson may go to him if Bairstow remains forward. Graham has been one of the better ruckmen in the league and should be ably supported by Adams, Siegert, McGrath, Dell-Olio and Phillips. Leaning towards the doggies in this one.
Have a super footy weekend, let the kids smell the sweat and Lanolin at a real footy match and hope everyone enjoys.
