How did ____ go on the weekend?

Why not consult the Alesana Player Video Database.

Interesting Horsley had Hall as best on, which might be controversial in here.

Personally I really liked his game, understands his deficits around his all use.

Nice little public whack for Gross as well.

Here’s your one year extension while copping a clip.

I like it

He’s had a bit of a horror month, perhaps he didn’t quite bring the effort in the weekend. Definitley wasn’t his best game.
I think he played a bit more there on the weekend but let the man finish the year off in the midfield if playing in the WAFL. Play the high half forward in pre season if that’s where they want him for 2026

Nope, Graham is invaluable to the team at the moment, but it'd be nice to find a spot for Clay in the best 22.

On WAFL form he clearly deserves it more than anyone else.

Bruv Hall has averaged about 30 touches and 5 tackles a game whilst kicking 3 goals over the last month. He's far from walking into the side. He's earned his spot IMO.

The next part of his development should be giving him the sugar hit of AFL after he's put in a stretch of quality WAFL form, which he has.

So who does he come in for?

Maric is a tall hff/hb/wing. Hes not really in the same category as the actual KPFs on the list imo

Problem is when we do have the 3 talls up forward, adding Maric makes us too tall. If Maric replaces one of JWil/Archer then we are too small up forward as he doesnt play his height.

Hes an awkward size, more suited to a wing or high half forward for now

The too tall too small issue during periods of games isnt as problamatic as being made out.

So what if we play smaller when Williams plays 2nd ruck for 5 minutes. We play smaller.

Its what happens with every club in every game when the 2nd ruck goes on ball.

And it is why we are playing Archer as he is a 200 plus cm forwqrd / ruck. A point of difference. It doesnt mean we must have a 200 plus cm forward playing forward all game.

Often thought we play a tad too tall forward TBh.

I wasnt talking about being too small for 5 mins per game.

The idea was to have 2 marking targets up forward at all times, so Allen/Waterman/whoever is alone doesnt get double teamed. If we swap one of JWil/Archer for Maric then we dont have that, Maric is too skinny, he would get bodied by a 185cm medium defender leaving their talls to team up to beat our actual KPFs

We are too tall up forward at times I agree, but with Waterman, Allen and Archer for example we arent too tall, we just play too tall with Waterman playing like hes 5-6cm taller.
If JWil was 195cm instead our fwd line height would be fine tbh

Jack Williams is listed at 198cm.

Archer 203cm

Allen 196cm

Waterman 192cm

Maric 196cm but plays shorter and is agile and good bellow the knees. Goal kicking g accuracy is still a ?

Shanahan at 195/6 cm

Newton in, McCarthy out this week.

McQualter said McCarthy wouldn’t be training today but made no mention as to whether he’d be back for the weekend or not

Implication was he wouldn’t be playing against North which was the question he was responding to. Nothing about WAFL though

I mean Maric doesnt present as much of a marking target, despite his height. 185cm defenders would beat him in a 1v1 marking contest, hes too skinny.
Maric plays like hes 10cm shorter than he is
