Now, this article will make you feel good -

FOR a developing tall forward, new Crow Fergus Watts doesn't think he could have landed at a better club.

Herald Sun Fergus Article

- and I thought this quote of Chaplin's in the Age was hilarious:

"... (Chaplin) is confident he knows enough about life away from home to survive in the "big, Bendigo-type town" that is Adelaide."

That's the way to impress the new city you're moving to - describe it as a country town ...

I didn't like the sound of Chaplin in the article, like 'oh, it means I'm going to have to leave home'

whereas Watts was more concerned about his mum getting over it...

Couldn't really give 2 hoots on how Chaplin settles in with the Paps or if he even plays any games for them.

As for this kid Fergus Watts well he is making all the right noises & sounds dead keen on coming across to the Crows & from all the reports that i have read about him he could be a real gun kpp for many a year to come.

 Everyone else in Australia calls it a big Country Town...including just about everyone in this state so why is it such a drama that Chaplin said that, other than to nit-pick on a new Power player?

Could be some interesting Showdown battles in years to come with future CHF AA Fergus Watts against future CHB AA Troy Chaplin.

From what I've read and seen of Watts, he seems very impressive. Not just the way he plays, but the way he handled himself infront of the media and how keen he seems to get his career under way, even if he has to move to Adelaide. A lot more impressive than previous draft selections that we won't name..

Angwin was very impressive too. He was genuinely happy to be picked up by Adelaide. You just never know what will happen. Kane Johnson was devasted when the Crows selected him. Ok, he left eventually but he stayed a lot longer than first planned.

****

Angwin was just one of those unlucky blokes who had a lot of unlucky things happen plus a poor mental disposition.

Kane Johnson stayed 7 years. That's a good return out of plenty of players. And he left on good terms, helping us to the deal we wanted. Couldn't have asked for much more.

Yer Watts is mature, conducts himself really well, Chaplin u can tell isnt as keen, still happy but has made it more obvious where he'd rather be. Still i reckon with his attitude Watts will be better than Chaplin.

Cant wait to see him play

Agreed. Don't really see what all the fuss is about.

I agree with dyertribe and (almost agree ;) ) with Noddy.

ps Noddy the WC Rugby final was a beauty wasn't it.

I heard both Watts' and Chaplin's interviews on 5AA yesterday, and gee they were an impressive pair of interviews. Fine young men, both of them.

Watts has been great from the word go and his enthusiasm to be here is very obvious. Just love the way he plays. He's gonna be a gun.

While Chaplin looked none too happy on draft day, he had certainly come round by yesterday once he met his future team-mates and seen the facilities.

Make no mistake, Port have done well with Chaplin. He's gonna be a very good player as well IMO.

"ALMOST" bloody hell i must be slipping. :)

Definitely a late convert to Rugby & the atmosphere on sat night was amazing.

& the end result even made having to sleep in the spare room for a couple of nights worthwhile.;)
