Fixture Week 1 finals fixture

Respectfully, it's not your home final so I don't really care if you can or can't make it. The same goes for if the game was at the GABBA I don't expect to get a seat up there.

Your club earns the right to a home final and they should get it.
Well the irony is we were denied that right due to MCG contracts in 2004 and Geelong have been denied those rights in recent years due to current MCG contracts.

End of the day, Geelong deserve the right to play at GMHBA. Or if they so-choose, to decide themselves if they'd rather play at the MCG. The rest is just going around in circles.

We just love the annual Geelong whinge about not getting to play finals at their postage stamp that’s not fit for finals.
Every one of your posts is just unintelligent rubbish

However ticket allocations should be split 50/50.
I strongly disagree with this part.

Finals between teams from different states it doesn't matter because there will naturally be less travelling fans.

Finals between teams in the same state however should give the home team a larger allocation to at least give the home team some advantage for finishing higher.

A Port v Adelaide or West Coast v Freo final should have the crowd dominated by the home team, the other is already lucky they don't have to travel, why should they get any more advantage

Media keep bringing it up more than anyone at Geelong.
They tried to bait Scott into having a sook about it on Saturday and he mostly didn't bite.

I'm happy for us to 'host' Brisbane at the MCG and it'll be an incredible atmosphere and better than it would be at Kardinia Park, I wish others could just acknowledge the hypocrisy of the whole thing though. If it was genuinely about maximising crowds then Adelaide would be hosting Collingwood at the MCG too.

Even as a lions fan I know the final should be at Kardinia Park. However ticket allocations should be split 50/50.

First two weeks of finals should be at the clubs actual home ground if they request it.

Prelims should be home state advantage, since having a week off should be the advantage.

I'd also remove the week off before finals.
My perspective. (Well, ignoring that I want GF to be at defending premiers stadium)

QF/EF - Home Stadium
SF - Largest in city
PF - Largest in state
GF - Largest in country

So the only time I wouldn't have Geelong hosting at GMHBA Stadium - PF and GF. I'd give them every QF/EF/SF.

I'd have week 2 at home venue as well. Last year's final against GWS was a better for being at Giants Stadium rather than the SCG or Stadium Australia.

Once all 5 mainland state capitals have an oval stadium that fits over 60k I'd like to see top GF seed able to nominate a GF venue, so winning the minor premiership actually means something. But that's obviously not happening anytime soon sadly.

Geelong have a point. They earnt it.

But I also get the 40,000 v 100,000 capacity point too.

Tough one.
Most Geelong fans have accepted we aren't getting finals at KP.

But at least give us the time slot to maximize fans able to come which is Saturday proved by the last 2 finals at the MCG between Bris and Geelong.

As an older Geelong supporter I just have always accepted finals are at the MCG

Playing a final in Geelong worked so well for the Cats last time.
Well we decided to drop our only fit ruckman at the time against Sandilands, rested hawkins to play josh walker at full foward and made chapman the sub despite being nearly best on ground the game before. Then enright, caddy and blicavs all got injured during the game.

Its fair to say there were extenuating circumstances that means the game was not all that reflective of what a normal result would be.

We still bring up the insane team selections of that game on the geelong board 12 years later.

I thought Hawkins did his back on game day.

We also beat Geelong @ MCG in 2012 EF so we got best of the worlds in that era on the road @ MCG & Geelong.

Anyway the better team won and the fact it got moved to Geelong made the win all the more sweeter as we saw it as a slap in the face and disrespectful by the AFL being sent there for a final when no other team in the finals series would have copped that.

"Your Quite Brillant, Shane"

It’s a very easy one.

No Geelong final at the MCG is going to get less than 40k.

Geelong have played finals (bar one) at the MCG their whole history and have been a very successful club.

The only way there will ever be another final at Geelong is if there is all four games in Melbourne.

Weird thing to love. Is it a coping mechanism to deflect that your club gets an unjust advantage against geelong in both away games and away finals?

Weird ‘advantage’ to play at a ground both call home whilst the AFL gives you 4 extra players every time we play.

Tend to agree with this, happy to have it at Geelong but perhaps the members own seats etc dont apply in finals.

I think as a generalisation most Cats fans aren't that bothered by it, admitting that probably over the past couple of years we have played better at the MCG than at KP anyhow.

I think, from my understanding so far, is that the biggest gripe coming from Cats fans is the Friday night fixture, which for those who do travel from Geelong, is a tough ask after finishing work for the day.

Having said that, the notion of crowd size should probably be irrelevant, knowing that if any other non Melbourne team qualifies for a home final that it is played at their home ground.

Be interesting to see what happens in 2047 when Tasmania qualify for a home final.

Bro what? Lol

Geelong has never had MCG as a Home ground? Is Marvel your Home ground?
NO? Then stop saying stupid rubbish that just makes you look silly.

Why would a competition incentivise a medium sized club to be advantaged over the largest club that makes them more money in marketing, revenue and attendance?
You realise it makes no logistical sense...the persecution complex is hilarious though
