Mansell 4 months stress injury
Bored The Office GIF

That was pretty much my point. Hotton, Armstrong, Sims and Mansell. Almost 10% of our list. Coincidence? Or is there a cause to this?
yeah cause would be our preseason program that had an emphasis on repeat running.

reading between the lines lots over load over use injury

Now I can understand trying to get young athletes up to AFL standard but not if they are going to break down all the time. Mansell is a surprise though... he's seasoned. Needs a re-think by Serpell at a minimum and a serious investigation by the club as well.

I certainly hope the club is doing its due diligence in the fitness department. It'll will literally make or break our short and long term future.

Perhaps!!!!! But NINE leg injuries at round 3 are too coincidental to not lump partial blame on the serpent. Let's not forget how many other players on the list are recovering from leg injuries also. How many are carrying niggles that can't afford to be rested due to 11 injuries. With a near full squad they might be able to freshen up. I mean Lefau should be eased into Max 80% gametime as a fwd coming back from a knee, not smashed in the ruck and shouldering too much to protect the kids.

It's supposed to. He's probably too anxious to release it and now his sphincter won't unclench as Louie Meehan warned him on his handover that the Bigfooty nuffies will come for him and give him an appropriate nickname like the Punt Rd slasher, then its only a matter of time before his only job offers are volunteering for a W program for free. I mean the serpent is quite fitting but give people time and he'll have a cracker of a moniker.
It could also be the season starting early and the hardness of the ground

I see clear signs of servere overtraining syndrome and if it continues there is a good chance it will be permanent .

Look at Hopper his fast twitch fibres are completely shot

All our hamstring injuries are 5,6,7, 8 weeks.
Our ACL are two years compared to 12 months for others , our stubbed toes are 6 months etc etc

So other grounds are softer?
Crows 7 injuries
Lions & Suns both 9 injuries
Port Swans WCE & Saints 10 injuries
Giants 13 injuries

7 teams with injury lists similar to ours and across the league there are 129 injuries that aren't concussion/illness related (16% of the entire league) so I'd suggest that it's not just a case of Serpell not knowing what he is doing.

The game is played at break neck speed with the ball going from end to end repeatedly and there are less interchange rotations in games which means players are being asked to push harder for longer. Add to that teams are asked to deal with shorter breaks between games. Season has continued to start earlier when grounds are still rock hard and only really soften when there has been quite a bit of rain. It's no wonder there are a lot of injuries across the league.

Every other team is struggling with injuries no better or worse than us. I think it's because ours are either integral to a functioning team - Nank, Lynch, Broad, Mansell - or a promisiing young player - Hotton, Smillie, Cumming. Alger - that makes it seem a lot more damning.

I doubt the board would be up in arms if it was Hopper, Ralphsmith, Ryan etc who were injured :tearsofjoy:
