Carlton match a bid for Harry Dean at pick 10

Their picks 12 and 14 have a combined points value of 2164 which is 1016 more than the 1148 required so pick 15 goes back to Carlton

So pick 16 and a F2 pick tied to St Kilda for what is now pick 11?

You have the pick, your up

Wedgetailed Westerner has the pick after you and can let me know if there’s an issue when making that selection
Pick 11. West Coast
Dyson Sharp (SA)
188cm IM

AsterixTheGaul Was right that part of my strategy in the academy bids was to potentially pick up Addinsall if my trade up for Sharp didn't eventuate. A plan B if you will.

Full reasoning to follow

Wedgetailed Westerner - You're up mate

Keys am I right in saying that the DVI points of bid-used picks are removed from the index? My current picks 21, 40, and 50 don't add up to 1030 in the same way they would pre-draft?

Correct

Picks move during the draft - either down the order when a bid comes in then up once picks used to match a bid are deleted

The points value of any pick is only relevant at the time a club needs to match a bid - firstly to calculate how many points need to be matched, then the value of picks used to match

Well, as gws I have.......certain needs. I want fire, I want spark, I want a zippy small forward with great agility, especially given Darcy Jones did his ACL and is out for next year. Frankly, I want Tylah Williams.

But if the bid isn't matched I'll get him, and no longer be able to grab someone else who's still on the table who also fits the tsunami game plan to a T. Pace to burn the opposition on turnover, and the elite endurance to do it all day? Gimme gimme gimme. With pick 14, GWS select Sam Grjl.

Best pick of the draft so far imo

AI tells me that Carlton's primary list needs are speed and improved ball-use skills, which were identified as weaknesses after a disappointing 2025 season. The team needs players who can provide "dash and dexterity" on the "edges" of the spine, and their kicking efficiency is particularly poor. To address this, they are looking to improve depth in a number of positions and may need to trade some experienced players to acquire talent.

With Pick 15 Carlton select Josh Lindsay who will provide some speedy ball movement and elite footskills from half back.
