Re: MM refusal to Change thing in the Game...

Fixed my Mistake,

Well really we should be 1-1 we where F**king Lucky we where playing against Kids. A more Seasoned Club would of Flooged us

Western Bulldogs didn't. We flogged them.:thumbsu:

Don't lose your nerve after once close shave, Dave, it's going to be a long season.

Re: MM refusal to Change thing in the Game...

Hey Dave, forget what we say - look at Harry O's take on the situation.

We have only lost 1 game this year and that was by 1pt to St.kilda. We will be focusing on what we have been able to do well and how we will use it to beat St.Kilda. In elite sport all around the world there have been great upsets when an underdog team beats a clear favorite. That is why elite sport is ‘elite’, If you play in the AFL you must have ‘elite’ talent.
Elite talent is something that Melbourne possess and when that is matched with great desire anything can happen. I am so grateful we were able to walk away with the win because a loss would have been so upsetting. 4 pts is 4 pts and in round 15 we will only see a ‘W’ next to that game because that is all that matters.

We will certainly not be pretending we didn’t play to the best of our ability, but once we analyze the game we must learn the necessary lessons and put it behind us. St.Kilda is going to be a great challenge, but this is why we play football. AFL Football is not meant to be easy!

A win is a win.. we have had a great preseason and cannot afford to start doubting our preparation. I know which way I would rather look at things

Same morons making the same points. Remember we did a poll, remember that that poll favoured a Malty less Collingwood? Of course you wouldn't, you believe what you want,

That poll was bullshit and you know it, all you did was write a bunch of names down and say they were all against Malthouse. I know that for a fact because you put my name on it as anti-Malthouse when I hadn't taken part in any poll at all.

That's a ****ing relief!

was done last year was one on here and Nick bb, both had majority in favour of Mick being replaced.

Scene changed with the 2 year deal Buckley handover but the poll was real and I voted in it so it wasn't faked.

Ah don't worry too much guys and gals,we played at our absolute worst and we won.

Melbourne played at their absolute best and they lost.

End of story move on to the saints game.

The poll/polls was of BF and Nicks posters?

Don't know why but I can't find any of the coaching discussion threads must of been deleted.

I believe they were real posters because I voted and had my opinion on them.

Was at a friends party yesterday and came home very drunk must of misread what rohan was saying, anyway sorry to him overreacted but the point remains there was a consensus done on BF and Nicks overall the majority (not all) wanted Mick replaced. He obviously knows of the poll otherwise how could he say his name was placed in there...
You should remember because you were quite active in the arguments.

I'm not claiming superhuman recall but I'd be happy to say that no Poll such as that returned a majority in favour of booting Malty in the last 3 years.
There was one on the main board early last season which was open to all posters, which unsurprisingly had the majority wanting MM sacked on the spot. I'm pretty sure it was deleted as it was a troll fest with few Pies posters other than a couple of our own "cheese eating appeasement monkeys" unashamedly kissing troll arse to garner a sliver of moral fulfilment.

There was this one.

LOL 21 respondents the day after the ANZAC Day loss. I was still drunk obviously and Red Carded for pointing out DNine's mental problems...

It's still open by the way so hopefully you get a few more than 2.38% of Pies board members to vote.

And then this one.

Which to be fair was amalgamated with a half or dozen or so anti-mm threads, which to also be fair all featured the same 6-7 anti-mm stalwarts.

Interesting to read DNines first post....lol...Things have been all positive since that post for Mick, Eddie and Maxwell.

Re: MM refusal to Change thing in the Game...

You're not addressing a deeper issue.

By which you mean that I'm reluctant to discuss MM's refusal to change things on game day?

Yes, I'm very reluctant to do so because I'm very ignorant about footy and in particular about game plans and coaching. And I suspect I'm not alone.

I'm just a supporter - here to add my voice to the chorus of encouragement that will hopefully buoy up the Collingwood community during the season. It would be ridiculous of me to attempt to criticise
  • the club admin and directorship which appointed the coach,
  • the panel of coaches which selected the team for the game, or
  • the head coach who devised the game strategy and managed everything on the day.
What would my ignorance contribute? I find it very hard to determine precisely which factors are influential at any given moment in a game, never mind across all 4 quarters. Is it player confidence, fitness, form, position, experience? Is it all of these factors in the opposition? Is it where we are in the season, or on the ladder? Conditions on the day? Or that elusive and painfully fickle factor - momentum?

To what extent is result determined by the contribution of individual players, and to what extent by the collective? How much influence can the coaches have once the players have taken the field? Can the umpires have any effect? Can the crowd actually help get a team over the line?
And to what degree is each factor influential?

I'd need to know a great deal more than I do before I'd be prepared to bad-mouth anybody.

Johncitizen says above:
Just goes to show the majority have NFI on anything football related.

I fully agree with him. But at least I know the chasms of my own ignorance, and will hold my wisht accordingly.

That's the one i was referring too, 42 against his retention 27 for and 22 fence sitters.

6-7 does not equal 42 votes...

Btw I don't really care anymore whats done is done in 2 years Malty will be moved on, just annoying how people try to rewrite history after the fact.

Can't blame me for that though. I'm pathologically honest as you can see from my post.:D
