What would we offer for Judd?

I dont think Brisbane has much of a say in the matter.
Charman's contract runs out this summer.
Brisbane has about 25 star ruckmen on their list, NOT INCLUDING HIM, so Im sure he would be telling them to accept what they can for him instead of seeing him go in the pre-season for free, wouldnt you agree?

** By the way, I said Egan for Charman, not Egan + a pick.
I'm pretty sure they do have a say on the matter.

Egan or Charman.

Geez, it will be a tough one.

Judd will never play for Collingwood. Eagles would never trade him to you. Doubt they would trade him to us either.

There was a thead on this before and even then i said to get the best player in the game, who will be 24, meaning will play at least 8 - 10 years for the club, the pies should offer both the 1st and 2nd round picks plus a player one of; Brown, Thomas, Reid, Rusling, Didak, Egan, Davis.....etc....(BTW I love all the players just mentioned and would hate to see any of them leave) but to get Judd the pies should give up champions to get a champion. Lets say we offer Didak plus 1st and 2nd round draft picks and Rusling. We have lost only Didak(Champion) and Rusling (Not yet proven player) 1st rounder (Unproven) 2nd rounder (Unproven). So it comes down to Didak for Judd. I would do the deal any day of the week.
However I think he will stay at WC.

I would vommit everywhere if we offered them Didak of all people and then Rusling, a 1st round pick and a 2nd round pick.

Honestly how good to you think Judd is. J Brown is probably the most dominant player in the league and I would dare say Brisbane will not win the flag.

I'll mention some names. Kerr, Cousins, Cox, Fletcher, Embley, Glass, Wirrpanda, Chick, Stenglein, Waters, Braun. He has a fair supporting crew. He stands beside possibly his equal, another Brownlow medallist and the best ruckman in the comp. As well as other effective midfielders.

Anyone who believes Judd would have the same impact without a dominant ruckman and a blokes who constantly feeds ball out of the pack is dellusional.

We need to build our own team. Judd best form came in 2004 and that didn't take a West Coast team who were better than we are now to a premiership. I find it un-believable that people think that trading our sole away for a player, as good as he is, is a step in the right direction.

Anyway Malthouse has made some weird moves in his time. Morrison, Williams etc. But I doubt he is stupid enough to give away everything for Judd.

If they go for him they will take the hard stance and listen to want West Coast want. If it doesn't suit Collingwood and we don't win out of it they will overlook the situation as they did with Stevens and we will be no worse off than we already were.

I think 15 clubs will win from 1 club luring Judd away from West Coast anyway. It will bring West Coast back to where we are.

It is very worrying that people seem to think we should trade away young players with their futures ahead of them for 1 superstar in hope he will bring us a premiership. When has that ever worked in the modern era.

And before people argue Barry Hall he was not 1/10 of the player that he was before Sydney made him what he is today.

after the last 6 months over there
if he could he would be playing for a vic team by round 5
lets see where we finish before we think we can offer
although I'm wondering, Does collingwood know where and how to make the right space and corridors for him to run into

I'd happily offer a first round, second round, and Rusling.

It wouldnt be enough though, especially if we finish in the finals and our first pick is something like pick 9 or 10.

We wont get him, but if he's on the market we'll definitely be there pushing the price up as high as possible, like Kerry Packer did at Nine while on his deathbed.

please explain to me how a club may have a say in a matter when the player is out of contract...?

Unless Collingwood is planning on tanking (again)... then we still have quite a bit of power.

Not to mention the fact that Jamie will be earning a decent pay packet up here next contract, he loves the club and his passion is the men's health spa that he runs up here.

Plenty of reasons for him to stay, not many for them to go.

This is my second post on this topic.THE EAGLES CAN KEEP CHRIS JUDD !!!!
No way would i trade young players like Didak,Pendelbury, thomas etc.
We are building a premiership team, don't need chris judd.Too much money, too much risk-re injuries down the track,to give away so much for one player.I don't think so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we traded anyone of dids, thomas, pendles, fraser ect it would rip our club apart, thats not collingwood. We dont eat our own, i can see a trade for N.Brown early 1st rounder and Rusling, that would cover it, his twin bro is their and he is just what the eagles need. People suggesting dids and co need to understand they bleed black and white, we cannot trade our soul away. Forget charman the hack, brian might not have the required fitness yet and obviously the club is giving richards a chance to reignite his career.

So clubs are not allowed to sign players coming out of contract now? They must go to a different club.

Weren't you born with a brain or you're just too stupid to read properly. Did I say that Brisbane isn't allowed to re-sign him? I said they don't have a say in the matter, if he decides to re-sign, move to Collingwood, or play NFL football, its HIS decision because HE is out of contract, Brisbane can't do shit about it.

Now tell me, when Jamie Charman is out of contract at years end, and is requesting a contract larger then the one Brisbane can fit into its salary cup, how does your club have a say in that matter? Answer my question instead of twisting my words, I made this post as simple as possible for you.

Brisbane free up 1.4 million with the end of Vossy's and Chris Scott's contracts. I think we can pay Jamie his value. If we decide we are too ruck heavy at the end of the year, it will be more likely Beau McDonald who gets traded. Jamie is one of our franchise players and features heavily in our marketing stuff. Not to mention our sponsor Vodafone is giving his business up here plenty of free publicity.

And if Collingwood don't finish last, what say does your club have in the matter? Carlton wouldn't have a problem paying Charman whatever Collingwood can offer. I can't see Carlton passing up a quality ruckman. You are going to finish above Carlton right? Or are you going to tank again?

exactly, if collingwood offered brown rusling and a first round pick for judd i would be happy enough, ofcouse i dont think judd will come, but it is worth a go

ffs i dont get how people come up with ideas and think that we want to trade away didak + pendles +thomas + a first round pick for judd.

I would be disappointed if we traded a player taken top 10 only 1 season into his development. Especially when our defence cosists of Presti, Clement and Wakelin who are all on limited time now.

Collingwood will offer them what they can afford to loose. If the Eagles arn't happy with that the Pies will tell them to get stuffed. End of story. I honestly hope Judd re-signs before years end so that we can end all this speculation. I just want to develop our own side and aim to win a premiership, like West Coast did.

Yeah exactly we got some good young kids coming through right now. If anything we need a couple of really fast mids and a dominant established ruckman e.g Charman.

You don't have to finish last to get players. I know what you're saying and can understand you're being defensive but the argument is weak. collingwood have as much say in the matter as anyone chasing Charman, obviously Brisbane have a say in keeping Charman unless he obviously wants out. I don't think he does though.
