6. Stanislas Wawrinka (refer to Rafa)
7. Roger Federer (I think 17 titles is enough, time to pass the baton)
8. Mischa Zverev (nothing against him, there's just no chance he will win so I don't really feel he's relevant to the discussion)

Zverev for sure, how could anyone not want him to win? He's an underdog and an anachronism.

Would love to see him usher in a new era of serve and volley. I mean, it won't happen, but it would be legendary if it did.

Would like Fed to win for the ultimate fairytale of him going out on top and calling it his last AO. A bit like Andre all those years ago. And as I'm a fan of comeback stories I'd love to see Venus get up (unlikely though)

Federer because he has been knocking on the door at slams for years now, barely falling short on multiple occasions. 3 finals and a bunch of semi finals since his last slam win in 2012. His level of play at his age has been unprecedented and somewhat underrated because he hasn't had the titles to show for it.

Becoming the oldest player to win a slam since the early 70s would be an incredible achievement. It'd be even more impressive considering the recent injury layoff.

Federer's record in Grand Slams since he last triumphed in 2012 are as follows:

Wimbledon 2014 - Final
Wimbledon 2015 - Final
US Open 2015 - Final

Australian Open 2013 - Semi Final
Australian Open 2014 - Semi Final
US Open 2014 - Semi Final
Australian Open 2016 - Semi Final
Wimbledon 2016 - Semi Final

US Open 2012 - Quarter Final
French Open 2013 - Quarter Final
French Open 2015 - Quarter Final

US Open 2013 - 4th Round
French Open 2014 - 4th Round

Australian Open 2015 - 3rd Round

Wimbledon 2013 - 2nd Round

*He was absent for the French Open and US Open in 2016 due to injury.

It's an impressive record for someone aged 31 and over.
