At 23, barring a particularly special occasion I think I'm done. It was fun, but the negative affects are beginning to outweigh the positives, both mentally and physically. Haven't had more than 3 beers in a session for the past month & feel great for it.

soft
......

Used to have more than 5-6 beers in a session relatively regularly in my 20's (once a week at least - sometimes 5-6 days in a row).

Once I hit my early 30's, started to slow down a bit - got jobs that required more responsibility and got married. Big binge sessions slowed down to once a month with mates or less.

Continued to slow until now (I'm 37) - the last time I had more than 3 beers at once was before a Helmet gig in 2008 (a half-day long session with a mate). It is always possible that it may happen every now and then in the future at big occasions when I get a chance to meet up with old Uni mates.

Most of my mates have slowed down as well in their 30's, although one or two in corporate jobs in Melbourne still hit it hard pretty regularly.

Not as "hardcore" as I once was (full-time employment certainly changes you quickly from the uni lifestyle).

Rarely drink now, but when I do I have a fair crack.

I only drink now on special occassions (which usually facilitates the blindness:p).

As much as I love having a few beers with dinner, I just don't do it now (trying to look after myself).

A good binge once or twice a month isn't hurting me, surely?

Never binged or really drank but giving up the weekly packet of **** as we speak. Has worked wonders so far :).

I don't really see the negative effects of binge drinking after a few years of drinking now (24, didn't drink early due to being a promising footballer) isn't it better than drinking every night?

You remind me of someone.....

Soft.

I binge drunk like a fiend up until I was 28, where it was rare for me to drink less than 20 standard drinks in a night. And I was doing this at least once a week, more often two or three times. But eventually the pain the day after outweighed the fun from the night before so I slowed down.

I have now gotten to the point where it's rare for me to drink one stubbie more than once every couple of weeks. I still occasionally binge drink but it's only when I catch up with Uni friends or family, and even then most of the time I stop after one or two.

My heavy drinking days ended the day I got a pager from the hospital I worked at. I had to be ready to go into work at a moments notice every third (or even every second) week for years.

Going by your user name - I would assume such a career choice would of made you develop some good binge drinking skills? - at least when you were at uni. It did for me at least.
