Was looking at a ladder predictor and I have us finishing 7th. (optimistic :D)

With a bit of luck and things continuing we can make the 8 depending on whether we win some of the tough ones.

I had us beating.

  • Essendon
  • Richmond
  • St Kilda (I think we can finally knock them off)
  • Adelaide (they always drop off at years end)
  • Port
  • North
Losing to

  • Sydney
  • Bulldogs
  • Brisbane
  • Hawthorn
Basically it all boils down to beating both North and St Kilda when we play them. North have an incredibly hard draw playing interstate often and in Vic vs good teams.

If we don't make the 8 Saints should claim that spot.

optimistic? try this, for some reason, I think we have more than a good chance of beating the dogs, I dont think we will win all the games you have stated, but we always seem to go great, or more than not, beat the dogs, did it last year, and I know it was only a practice match, but did it this year too.

I felt the same way initially, but they are a completely different side to that we have played in the past. Last few years they were a skilled outside team(apply enough pressure and they would crumble), from what I've seen this year they are equally as good inside, seem the real deal to me...not to mention their forward line is looking a lot better with Welsh

If we can play the way we have been I feel we can win the matches I said, if we drop our intensity we wont win the harder games. A few weeks ago I thought it'd be great if we finished with 8 wins, now we're a realistic shot at 10-12 wins :thumbsu:

My minimum expectation as of now is for 10 wins and to finish 9th.

Over this and a possible finals appearance is a bonus !!!! :D

Under, and I think we have underperformed in the 2nd half of the year.

We are a young side that is still learning, and I dont expect us to pass every test. Next year I will EXPECT finals. :p

We are on our way up, and I'm loving it !!!!!

hawks should beat North and hope for freo to Beat st kilda would help us if we win this weeken give us a extra game ahead 2 ahead of st kilda and 1-1/2 games ahead of North would make a handy little break
and hope north and saints lose again the following week would help us to when we play both saints and north we should beat Richmond as well
so if we lose to sydney, bulldogs and say Hawthorn wouldn't hurn
if we have wins we can beat Port twice
looking forward to reverse the losses we had against Essendon & Richmond its Pay back time take no shit from them we've come along way since we played then last time its our turn to hand out a few 100pt smashings :thumbsu:
Go blues

i have us finishing 8th, but in the next few, we will sneak up to 6th, but then drop back to 8th with losses to the hawks and crows!

About 10th we may go close to winning the next 3 but l think we will drop away massievly (losses rather than big margins) in the last 7 and miss September. But build a terrific platform for next season to play finals.

I have us finishing 9th with 10 wins. Saints in the 8.

The 3 games that will play a big part in us making the 8 are:

Round 14: North Melbourne v St Kilda
Round 15: Carlton v St Kilda
Round 20: Carlton v North Melbourne

I think we can manage wins against Essendon, Richmond, Port Adelaide and North Melbourne

We are a chance against St Kilda and Adelaide (AAMI)

I think we can mark these down as losses: Sydney (TD), Western Bulldogs, Brisbane (GABBA), Hawthorn.

We really need 5 more wins and a decent percentage, I just cant see us getting that 5th win.

I agree that 11 wins may get us 8th spot, the Saints are our main competition for 8th spot.

Win the next 3 games & we'll get 8th spot.

Don't discount 10 wins getting 8th spot, with the top 3 teams+ Swans winning so many matches.

Also noticed Blues,Saints,Power & Roos all play each before season is out.

I think we can scrape into the 8.

The Saints need a huge improvement in their game and with the youth factor that Lyon's is now talking about, maybe he has conceded and thinks that they may not play finals.

The Kanga's injury worries are getting worse not better, so I think they are gone for this season.

Looking at the draw I can see, with a bit of luck on their side, the Bulldogs finishing on top after round 22.

long way to go, but with a young list you never know whats going to happen

generally young teams start to drop off towards the end of a season, but by the same token, young teams high on confidence can go on and achieve well beyond what most people think they're capable of

if i had to pick a number, id say we'd finish 9th.
but anywhere between 6th to 11th is a realistic possibility

Where ever we finish, we can say that the boys have exceeded our expectations on them this year.... 8-10 wins is what would have been a "Pass" rate, and we will achieve that

For mine Brisbane are far better than the 1 game difference suggests, therefore finishing >7th is almost impossible.

I would suggest somewhere between 8th and 11th with St. Kilda, Kangaroos & Port Adelaide filling those positions...
