List Mgmt. Which free agent should we be targeting?

Yeah, I must say it's Dangerfield or nothing for me at the moment. But it seems set in stone that if he goes anywhere, it'll be the Cattery.

I don't think we should target anyone. We are developing at the moment and are miles away from being top team again. We should continue to develop our youth and wait till we are close to contending before we try and get a free agent.

Look at the free agents we have got in the last couple of years there all spuds.

He makes too many mistakes. He tends to give away high free kicks. Can take the odd (albeit pretty good) grab but his crumbing is poor and fades out of games easily. He's goal kicking is poor and doesn't really know how to use his speed. And probably with Bucks as the coach he wouldn't fit in.

Just my opinion on him.

I wouldn't be paying Dangerfield $1mill+ per season.
He is probably top 5 player in the competition, buy you screw up the rest of the list putting that much in one basket.
It puts the other players off.
I am sure Swanny, Pendles and Cloke took unders what they could have got on open market.
No use bringing an outsider and pay him more money than those guys.
If one of those three left, then you could throw the cheque book at him.

A player that I haven't seen mentioned yet is Dylan Shiel. For me the kid is quality has speed, can play inside/outside and is a quality user of the footy.

I believe he is out of contract at years end and is a Victorian so may want to return home.

I'm a fan of Shiel, but he's not the greatest user of the football. No doubt he is going to be a star, but if we are looking at GWS kids to poach Will Hoskin-Elliott has to be top of the list.

seriously just throw them money onto dangerfield. 1.1mil 1.2 mil a year for 5 years I honestly do not care. If this mean we are unable to sign 2-3 mediocre players like Blair, Thomas, Keefe then so be it. He is exactly what we need, and Ill go as far as saying we are a top 4 chance next year with Dangerfield. A non-tagged Dangerfield or Pendlebury sounds pretty damaging to me

Be handy for a few years wouldn't he.
The kind of player that puts you into contention pretty quickly.
Throw him into our side this year fully fit and we would be a lock for top 8 IMO.

I wouldn't throw that kind of money at Danger. That's the kind of money you throw at a once in a generation key forward not an inconsistent midfielder who's footskills are questionable.
