Since its way too one sides on the other one, let's make it a decent poll

which one of these is the better spine

Adelaide
Rutten, Bassett, Perrie, Ricciuto

Essendon:
Michael, Fletcher, Lucas, Lloyd

Fremantle:
McPharlin, Johnson, Pavlich, Tarrant

Melbourne:
Carroll, Rivers, Robertson, Neitz

Sydney

St Kilda

The only reason i went Freo ahead of Essendon is because Lloyd is yet to prove he'll come back from injury successfully. If he does, they take the cake.

Just for a comparison

Other clubs:

Brisbane: Merret, Bradshaw, Brown, Clark
Carlton: O'hAilpin, Whitnall, Waite, Fevola
Colingwood: Prestigiacomo, Clement, Cloke, Rocca
Richmond: Gaspar, Bowden, Richardson, Kingsley
Geelong: Scarlett, Egan, Ottens, Ablett
West Coast: Glass, Hunter, Hansen, Lynch
Western Bulldogs: Harris, Grant, McDougall, Robbins
Hawthorn: Dawson, Croad, Franklin, Williams
Port Adelaide: Wakelin, C.Cornes, Tredrea, Thurstans
Kangaroos: Hay, Petrie, Hale, Thompson

If the list is made on who is the best player in the position then it must be changed to:

Richmond: Gaspar, J. Bowden, Richardson, N. Brown

Brown is the best FF at the club, far better than someone who hasn't played a game for us yet. Polak hasn't played a game for us yet either, and although he is likely to play CHB most of 2007 for the time being Joel Bowden (who was the competition's best CHB in 2006) should be in our list because he is the best player we have in that position.

Compare that with Essendon's:

Lloyd > Brown
Richo > Lucas
Bowden > Fletcher (form of last 2 years)
Michael > Gaspar

Although I think Sydney's is the best, they are in form where as Fletcher and Michael are not (Lloyd has his injury and Lucas has a new forward structure to cope with).

You're right about Bowden but putting Brown at FF is absolute garbage. Brown is a HFF.

Fletcher is in great form you should try watching a game here and there,

Lucas has to deal with a new forward line??
you mean like the one he's been dealing with since he started? yeah you know your football:rolleyes: :thumbsu:

Lloyd has been out all year and Lucas played fantastic football. Now the whole dynamics of the Essendon forward line will return to how they used to be and Lucas will no longer be the focus and must move up the ground more. If he can sustain his goal kicking from 2006 then I would be very surprised and I think most people would agree that Lucas will have to change his game again.

Nathan Brown has spent a lot of time playing FF, he did for Richmond and he spent even more time at FF for the Doggies.

I would think that would be the dogs spine.

Nonsense. Just because your forward pocket is a better player than you're full forward doesn't mean that you can swap them and claim each plays the other position.

Brown actualy DID play FF and has played FF for a lot of his games.

But like Joel Bowden at CHB, he played there out of necessity most of the time and he is more effective on a HFF imo.

Freo > St Kilda > Sydney > Melbourne would be my top 4

Its funny i tipped the bombers yet still believe they will finish in the bottom half of the ladder.

Key position players are highly overrated these days. In the 90s they were the most important players but modern football is all about the midfielders.
