Who will breakout in 2017?

Hoping Duryea can. All the tools to really start having an impact. Optimistically he's a great ariel defender for his size with incredible courage and the ability to drive attacks from half back. Didn't quite put it togethet in 2016 like I hoped he would.

I really hope Langers. If he can get his disposal right, he should become a regular.

I really hope Vickery too. Having Hale mk2 could be awesome for our club.
It's up to him now.

Duryea is caught between that part of his career where he's a permanent fixture and that part where he's a leader the young kids look up to. Stratton has taken that step.

Time for Duryea to get a cooler head to go with his amazing terrier Andy Collins-like attitude and his amazing Goo-like left foot. Could be really something, but last season he took a few too many players on.

I'd just absolutely LOVE to see Woodward step up and carry this entire team's spirit on his shoulders, so he can pass it on to Roughie.

Would love to see JOR breakout. I feel Burton will entrench himself in the 22, injuries aside. Hartung should be starting 22 if he wants it, unless JOR really breaks out.

All things being at their best - JOR, JOM & TOM having good years for us would be stupid amazing

I'm hoping Langers will, as well.

Langers has everything except decision making - he's strong, skilful and athletic. If he gets his head right, he can take the step up like his father did in 1986 and went from average to a bona fide superstar.

He will be a huge addition to our midfield.

Burton is the only correct answer.

I'm hopping Chopper will get more regular time and maybe if Howe can take that next step. We'd be laughing.

I'm also REALLY keen on seeing one of our smalls step up if a space in the pocket opens up, whether that be Miles, Hardwick or Stewart, all have shown glimpses of being a real find.

I think this year will be a transition year, where we tell the kids "don't worry about consistent game time, we'll give you a shot at the top level, and if you give it your all, and make an impact, the spot will be waiting when the older guys move on"

That's a great shout. He regressed in 2016, but unlike most of the guys that spring to mind he is already 60 odd games in entering his prime. Question is, can he move from a strong one on one small defender to influence a game with his drive off half-back? I'm not sure, I kinda see him in the Nick Smith mold. Dean Rampe come from the heavens a little this year, would be amazing if Doc could do the same...

That's the only thing holding him back... But, Clarko intimated he will need to adjust his game style to place more of a premium on contested ball. If that's the case, then you would think it suits Langford.
