Because alot of people who choose to barrack for Collingwood do so because they know Collingwood are hated and that it will get them noticed.

I really don't get it. Whenever an incident occurs, it is always magnified when it happens to Collingwood. Strange.

People dislike Collingwood because they are favoured by the AFL unfairly. Every year they get an awesome draw, hardly ever leave victoria. Gifted one of the biggest games of the home and away season every year. Won't even let port use their traditional guernsey, even in heritage round. Eddie maguire. Maggots love you, you talk up your players like they are gods ect.

The majority of supporters are feral obnoxious violent numbnuts, they hopelessly overate everything Collingwood, they honestly believe their club is bigger than the game itself, do you want me to go on?

Despite the fact that we've only won three premierships since the 1930s, it took Carlton and then Essendon until the 1980s to overtake our premiership tally.

Hatred of Collingwood is deeply ingrained and has been passed down from father to son. The roots of Collingwood hatred are nothing more than envy.

People rationalise this continued hatred, even today, in all sorts of strange and amusing ways. For example, the pitiful creature below, who clearly lacks the ability to distinguish mere propaganda from reality:

or the club was unlucky eneough to start with ferals which if course attract more of the same.

Other people invoke Eddie as their reason. People hated Collingwood long before Eddie became President. Another mere rationalisation.


This is one of the few intelligent responses I've read from a non-Collingwood supporter on this issue:

And no matter how many times they lose, and no matter how much riduculle they cop, they don't seem to care because they are so one eyed. They will not be swayed. They are insufferable, and they are shocking gloating winners.

Correct all teams have bad supporters but it just so happens that your club has an unhealthy percentage of them.

I'm hardly envious of the premierships you won against a handfull of teams when my team wasn't even in the same competition. Footy is a lot different now, more teams for starters and no check booking. How canyou possibly count your VFL premierships and not Port's SANFL premierships?

I don't hate them at all. They are a huge club and good for the game and in many respects are like richmond. At our two clubs support is not so much feral as ingrained.

Besides when the Mighty tigers get it together to get to finals the maggies generally turn roung and present their little tushes to the us for a good seeing to so they rarely got in our way during the tiger train years and won't if and when the train gets back on track due to their fear of us when the chips are down. What's to hate?
