Why is it wrong for AFL players to get paid more, but not cricketers?

What kind of 1940s industry has a union representing them these days

The ones that, in the majority cases, have better pay and conditions than non-union industries.

How ****ing naive would you have to be to believe that your boss is going to give you every dollar you're worth, and every dollar he/she can afford out of the goodness of their heart?

Rubbish, where do you work? If you got potential do you get huge money? 70k is more than good money to be someone with potential and nothing more, if you stand up and perform then based on your performance you can earn more.
To many blokes in the AFL earn good money no matter how they perform.
But just quietly I would love to work for your company.........

Varies a bit but graduates start in that ballpark (if not accounting for loading for being in an on-site role). And going by this, the 60-70k mark is pretty consistent for graduates in most professional fields which go through the analogous process of selecting those who they think can develop at the company over the long term. Then taking into account the fact that they are participants and contributors to the pre-eminent sporting organisation in Australia combined with the knowledge that it's a short term career lifecycle, to me it seems you are out of touch with the realities of the modern world.
