"A Dutch researcher has created a virus with the potential to kill half of the planet’s population. Now, researchers and experts in bioterrorism debate whether it is a good idea to publish the virus creation ”recipe”. However, several voices argue that such research should have not happened in the first place"

I think that science research is a good idea. But why would you do this?

I think this research will help to find a cure for the avian flu.
It will help find a cure for the virus they've created and yes, the goal would be to find cures for various other similar viruses.

You can't find a cure for a virus unless you can create it in a controlled lab environment. That's why it's been made. /thread

sets up for the action movie/novel conspiracy.

If anyone reads Matthew Reilly's novels- wasn't part of the story in "Area 7" about how a killer virus was created designed to only affect black people?
