Why the Improvement?

Everyone goes on about how Ross Lyon and St Kilda took the game to a new level last year. Collingwood this year have stepped it up even further as I believe we have a better list to exicute the forward pressure.
Is it a coincidence that Luke Ball came over to Collingwood and brought some valuable info with him !
Has to be something in that !

Never before have i seen a Collingwood group with this much belief.

I really noticed it for the first time in the qualifying final against the dogs where we physically intimidated them.

Ben Johnson summed it up best on MMM after the game, when he said the Club had been working for 3 years on this game plan.
It is only now that it is all coming together

Agree with these.

You wonder where the idea/implementation plan re the frontal zone came from...how much, if any, Bucks had to do with this.

I know MM deserves the credit for it, as the buck stops with him.

Quite honestly i always found it amazing how far we flew under the radar. Compared to the other 3 top four teams

Geelong: Barely a change in their 09 list, were rated better than us
St Kilda: Lost ball Goose Maguire and big Max, picked up Peake and Lovett (who they lost soon after ) and a bunch of other plodders (pattison, jesse smith), were rated to finish first
Bulldogs: Picked up hall to add to their pensioners brigade (hall's been pretty good though) won the nab and they were faves

Collingwood picking up Ball and Jolly and some people thought we'd fall out of the top four!

We looked at the areas we needed to improve on, we filled the holes with quality

Natural progression of Sidey, Beams, Pendles, THOMAS!, Dawes, Reid, Macaffer, Goldsack (to an extent) whilst phasing out the players that wouldnt get us there, Fraser Obree Tarks

Players being better than expected. ANVIL ! TOOVES ! ect

weve been improving for years and this season is a culmination of years of preparation
