Player Watch Will Ashcroft - better than D Martin, L Hodge, McLeod, or Naicos

No Doubt, Washcroft is a future superstar of the game and is performing very well in finals, especially for his age. However, anyone genuinely suggesting that he’s better than Daicos based on current form and output is being disingenuous to provoke certain folks around here.

The gap is certainly shrinking though 👀

daicos is obviously better at this stage of their careers but i feel like most neutrals will admire ashcroft more than they do daicos. it is unbecoming of a player like daicos to constantly play for the whistle and then rub it into a first year players face when he gets the preferential umpiring treatment he has come to expect. needs to get that out of his game.

i think booing most players is genuine nuffy territory, but i don't blame brisbane fans who opted to boo daicos after his second quarter theatrics yesterday evening.

A lot of his goals are pure clutch. He's really a brilliant kick. Not sure I would pick him ahead of Daicos but as it stands, you would be happy with either player.

His brother is still a watch. Looks good but perhaps ends up like Josh Daicos, still a damn fine player but not really a star of the competition.

His brother is meant to be better than Will. Of course time will tell if that's true, but Levi came into the comp more highly rated than Will and with a bit more of an upside.

He doesn't look anywhere near as talented as of right now.
Will also looks to have a much stronger body. He is wide through the torso like Rowell and easily shrugs off tackles. He was doing that in his first season so it's nothing he has added this year alone.

Sometimes it just pans out this way. The more talented younger brother finally gets drafted but turns out to be second best. Heard it about Scott Selwood, Nathan Ablett (probably would have been the best of the brothers), Kade Kolodjashnij and even Troy Menzel at stages early on.

Stands up in the big games ol Walshy. Shame his backs rooted.

What's Nicky's excuse for another meh finals showing?
Meh? Premiership player Nick has been one of our best players.

I know it’s hard for Blues fans to understand, but it’s a team game. You play for premiership medals, not for individual awards.

Unfortunately for Sam, that’s all that matters at the end of the day.

So Nicky has a crap performance and the excuse for him is 'its a team game' ? Lmao.

Shame Ashcroft was busy winning the game for his team last night while Nicky was crying to the umps as always.

I reckon when Nicks long retired you’ll be out the front of the nursing home hanging shit on his organ playing skills

Crap performance! 🤣🤣

Again, where is Sam Walsh?

Not yet no.

Will be interesting to see how Daicos performs when Collingwood decline.

For me NAS is the better.
Yes it will be interesting, to see how he goes in a bottom 8 side, Nas is an interesting watch.

All good players have amazing years in their last year of contract. Then just cruise

For simpletons that can’t judge him without taking into account the jumper he wears. He’ll be top 3 in a Brownlow this year for the 3rd time in his 4 year career.
Yeah, will always be pure jealously because he’s locked in black and white for life.

They can try to argue that all they want, but that’s exactly what it is.

Don’t lump all Blues fans together, those with any neutral clue understand Nick is a bonafide star.. is doing more in his 4th year of footy than any player before him.. FFS he is 22 and already comfortably the best player in the comp and should win the Brownlow in a canter. Ashcroft looks a talent and quality player no doubt but he is surrounded by other stars like McCluggage, Neale, Andrews, Rayner etc etc Nick is basically dragged Collingwood to a prelim on his own.

The good Blues fans know who they are.

You are that 👏👏👏

I love watching Nick Daicos. The kid is a genuine freak. He genuinely has it all. Maybe not so much on the contested side. Smaller body hurts him there. But in saying that he still throws his body at the ball. Majority of the time he is 3 steps in front of everybody.

The whinging to the umps and mocking a 1st year player was abit much last night. But that doesn't happen all the time.
