it worries me that simmo hasn't trained with the group involving any contested work at this stage. Remembering that this guy coughed and splattered like a Massey Ferguson that hadnt been turned over since pre drought on his return in 2007 from the ankle injury. I really hope he can get some miles into him prior to season or I feel we'll be seeing alot more of Carteldge than we think

Not doing the contested stuff doesnt bother me. Simmo is a tough guy and you dont lose that by not training on it. As long as hes doing the fitness stuff thats the big issue. Dont want him to bulk up like he was a few years ago or not train like he did last year when his ankle was busted.

From what i've heard hes done everything bar the contact stuff.

Round 1 is still 2 months away, so there's plenty of time. And if he's not ready by then, I doubt they will be taking a risk with his health by naming him in the squad prematurely, it's just not worth it.

All we can do now is just wait on official club news and perhaps see him training for further updates?

Whilst he is on warfarin he is not allowed any heavy contact. This drug prevents the blood from clotting easily and thus he could get life threatening internal bleeds if he is poleaxed at training. After a week off the drug he will be able to resume contact training.

hopefully simmo can get back to his very best and quickly as well. Was a major key to our success in 2006:thumbsu:
