Surely you jest.

Pendlebury couldn't have been dropped. He played his best game of the year last week and was in our top 6 or 7 players.

Good one for the telly if true, with Pendles and Daisy creaming it up in a comp they should dominate in.

Don't worry be happy, Pendlebury and Thomas are named in the Collingwood side Vs Fremantle.

Yeah both are named to play Freo, surprised to see again only one ruckman! Also surprised that Rusling and Thomas are both playing. I would think that one of those would be left out for Fanning. All will be revealed today when we see who lines up for Willie.

davies b.o.g so far
trav has bee very good surprisingly in the wet
rowe been ok too
and danny nicholls looks like he could be a good player

Summed it up beautifully

Davies BOG, conditions made for him. Perhaps should have got a gig tommorow

Trav presented well, tackled hard, good effort

Rowe was solid, put in, kicked 3

Nicholls is worth a few years on our list for development, great skills even in the wet. He is a midget but if we can bulk him up a bit he might be able to come in and have an impact like Adkins did (but hopefully go on with it)

Just came back from Burbank Oval...

Egan was exceptional IMO. His skills were up to scratch in the wet.

Rowe looked comfortable in the open area.

T Cloke presented well. He did a couple of smart things.

Davies cooked up a four quarter performance. Brave effort.

Nicholls was satisfactory. He thrives hard work.

Iles had a quiet game for his standards.

Hall doesn't work hard enough.

Toovey and O'Brien were robust in defence.

Stanley was on and off the pine.

Booch looked promising before sustaining an injury.

Tex was decent before sustaining an ankle injury.

Watched it on the tv and fair summary Coin Toss

Egan was very good
Rowe was quiet after half time but a good game all the same
T Cloke was great in conditions unsuted to him
Davies was easily Willy's best listed player
Toovey Iles and Stanley all did ok.
Nicholls showed excellent skill and pace in the conditions
Hall worked hard and conditions didnt suit, but could not position himself properly in the contests and was often out-bustled by opponent half his size.
Booch loooked good - didnt realise he got injured
Tex was invisible.

Great team effort all round with Lawry Williams and Greene amongst the best.

Agree with all you said especially on Egan. He looked a cut above the rest. Was composed in defence and used the ball very well whenever he had it. I was very impressed with his game.:thumbsu:

Anyone know the result of the reserves. Interested to find out how Ryan Cook went.

Won by about 70 odd, Koschitzke continued trying to kill himself.

Egan has very good hands, both in picking up the ball and dishing it off. Davies was easily BOG. Rowe especially after half time looked pretty good, especially his skills. 3 goals when he mostly played HBF is impressive. With his height he could almost play the Joel Bowden role, except you wouldn't match him up against the big forwards like Bowden is sometimes stuck against.

Hall impressed a bit, but it's too late to show only glimpses. Hall should stay in the seniors though as he straightens them up at FF, this is what Williamstown have struggled at, the forward structure.

Toovey is very rough around the edges but shows a bit of explosive pace and courage, Iles IMO doesn't give me much to be excited about. Stanley needs to be given time but there is alot to like about him.

How come R.Cook didn't play after kicking 6 goals in the reserves in his return game? And where is Anthony?

Ryan Cook didn't kick 6 last week, it was the other Cook. Both R.Cook and J. Anthony played in the reserves after coming off ill health/injury. Both boys played good solid games, Cook was very effective around the packs and had plenty of disposals, JA was playing off HB/CHB and played a very good attacking defensive role in the 1st half. He was switched to the wing in the 2nd half and actually looked a little lost...I think due to it being an unfamiliar position for him. Overall, both played good serviceable games.

Not sure we watched the same game. Hall was a waste of space today. I think he had 3 possies . Kick 1 goal from his 1 mark which he only took because he happened to be in the right place at the right time. Compare this to cloke who worked his butt off and managed to get over 20 touches which was exceptional for a big man on a day like that.

Most comments pretty much spot on. Egan and Rowe had unbeleiveable touch in those conditions, certainly not in and under but provided the polish that was needed on a day like yesterday. It seems to me that Cloke ,Egan and Rowe are the 3 in this side who have the potential to have the most impact at senior level. I think Davies is worth keeping on the list next year . His work ethic is great and if he can work hard on his skills and decision making he can still make it. I don't see alot technically wrong with his kicking I reckon its more a case of panicking under the pressure of AFL footy. Its not out of the question for this to improve alot.

Liked the look of Nicholls , very lively , great skills and looks like he enjoys a contest. Could be worth another year on the rookie list

Anyone know what the story is with Stanley. He have seen him 4 times now(including twice on abc tv) and I have not seen one thing to like about him. He has been completely useless eveytime. Have I just seen him on bad days or is he always like this??

Do you think so. They came of but you would have to be worried why he was doing fancy little kicks and dry weather football style of play in the wet. His kicks didnt all pay off. Still going to be a good player.

Davies and Rowe were great. Rowes skills around goal look good.

He has to get used playing against men even more sdo than the other draftees as his role is to be in and under and give it to them physically , he maybe struggling with thge fact he can't push them around as easy next year you will see him improve as he builds his strength.
