Wines on Langdon

The MRP enforced the 2017 tackling guidelines. The issue would lie with the creator of the guidelines.

The MRP can use the reasonable in the circumstances line.
They got the Burgoyne one right, even Mumford but have changed their stance to a ridiculous result based outcome.
Also force in these punches/jumper punches.
Hodge gets graded low, the same bloke gets hit by Duncan the very next week who said Hodge hit was harder but Duncan got graded medium lol.
Merrett also, the bloke he hit was fine.
Hawkins also punched a bloke a second before jumper 'pushing'and the punch albeit light wasn't even looked at.

The MRP is in horrid form!

On a bit of a side note I find it interesting that people say "he got off" when the reality is he didn't, he has received a fine. The mentality that he got off is just plain wrong he pleads guilty admitting he was at fault to reduce the fine/suspension, the idea being the admission of guilt means he understands he can't do that and is less likely to do it again...

Serial offenders like Hawkins and Redpath don't get that luxury anymore as their admission of guilt is meaningless as they continue to offend they get weeks and cannot reduce the sentence.

Thought piece: Is there a group of supporters who don't think the AFL leads a grand conspiracy against their club?
So you are content that the MRP is consistent in its deliberations? This is what supporters are up in arms over. How else can you explain such inconsistent decisions?

Merrett & Duncan both cop a week (downgraded from 2) for gut punches deemed to be "medium" contact
Dangerfield and Grundy execute legal tackles with unintended consequences and cop suspensions
Ollie Wines executes a head-high bump on Tom Langdon AFTER the ball has been disposed of by the player and cops a fine of $1000
Dusty Martin deliberately fingers a player in the face/eye and cops a fine
Tom Hawkins jumper shoves Rampe and cops 2 weeks.
Toby Green flies sky high to accept a handball and his boot strikes Dalhaus's face (requiring stitches). Deemed to be nothing more than "misconduct" and he cops a fine
Tex Walker bumps Jason Johannisen into the goal post leaving him dazed, and he walks away scott-free

The MRP is quite simply all over the place in its decisions, and because in most cases clubs risk double-penalty if they challenge the decisions, the MRP gets away with what it is doing.

If we were witnessing consistency across the season and in all cases, we'd have nothing to complain about

So Mumford and Varcoe (Rd 1) were graded medium impact despite the players playing on.
I'd forgotten about the Varcoe one. A fair shepherd within 5 metres of the ball. Funny that the MRP have been ******* up since round 1. They wasted no time this year.

You're an idiot for making/sharing that comparison video.

2 weeks just like Parsons on Hodge.

Good point, but Wines does not hit with his elbow – it is closer to arm/shoulder.

In drazah 's comparison, he gets the hit part right, but the collision is frontal with no jump. It should have been arm/shoulder on chest.

The incident was identical to Cameron against Houston, and received the identical penalty. Period.

Wrong.
Although the actions are similar, Cameron's is actually worse as he hits him head on and could see exactly where he was going to land.
