lol what a suprise port fans dont think he did anything wrong...

What a stupid characterisation of what people have said. We actually looked at the rules and said what we thought they would grade it as ... and we were correct. He hasn't done anything more wrong than what about 100+ players have done over the past 5 years. As is always the case, if you choose to bump you risk hitting them high and injuring them. He got lucky that the player got straight up because if he didn't it would be the 1-2 weeks that everyone seems to be craving for on here.

cmon if he was a pies player and did that to one of your boys and he got off with a fine, your mob would be burning.
especially KOCH

he didnt attack the ball, he went for the man

Ok I've lost my marbles completely and melting hard.
The head isn't sacrosanct anymore? What the actual hell is going on?
F****** ***** **** off
MRP will be the death of me. What an absolute shambles.

for a while now it's been based entirely on whether the bloke is injured.

if he was ko'ed it was 4 down to 3

as it was he was fine, so no weeks.

its stupid, but its what the MRP are doing. at the moment. until they change their minds again.

Bullshit ... he was committed to bump him off his kick and hit him late/high. He did what every player is coached to do and executed the bump poorly. The guy is 6'2 and 97kg. If he wanted to hurt him he wouldn't have got up, tough or not. It intrigues me that you are so interested in the outcome. It wouldn't be because you're playing us for a spot in the finals and he smashed you last time we played?

He jumped off the ground and hit him in the head... he didn’t aim for the body

Hahaha yes so much this.
You blokes were hard done by also. Can't believe I'm sticking up for you but where's the old potential rule gone?

Do you think it might be reserved for special circumstances like intentionally king hitting a bloke or intentionally ramming someone into a post? Hodge got graded careless, high, medium impact. He got an extra week because he had already decked swallow that year. The careless aspect was very generous from the MRP, the medium as opposed to low impact could go either way. He got we he deserved and like Wines was very lucky that no one was hurt. If Wingard was knocked out, he would have got 4-6 weeks and might have cost Hawthorn a flag. The fact that you are trying to argue a late bump in a live play is the same as someone with their head over the ball in a dead play and rammed head first into a post is beyond me. But then again you guys were AFL's love child the week you played us, and hated them a week later, and are not known for your thought processes.

It was graded exactly the same as Wines it just carried a higher penalty back then.

Yeah head was sacrosanct back then and they've since relaxed the rules, NOT.

Probably cost us another flag. BACK THEN!!!!!!! :D

Thanks for proving my point.

You had a point? Must have missed it.

Did you want him to run straight across the guys leg and break it in half? You're more than welcome to go and have a look at it again in real time. He was 1-2metres away when the ball left the Collingwood players foot. He was committed to bump and if you want to slow the footage down to make it look terrible, you can also slow it down to see that his head was lower as he kicked it then when Wines committed to the bump a couple of seconds earlier. It is 6 inches to a foot lower which is the difference between a legal bump and an illegal one. I can see how people could think it was deliberate, but unlike other players in the comp Wines has a 100+ game career that proves otherwise. It still doesn't change the fact that Wines is lucky that he didn't hurt him, he just didn't intentionally hit him in the head.

To me Mumford is the outlier. They were never going to keep to that standard otherwise people would be missing 2 weeks all over the place. I'd be pretty miffed if I was GWS though. The jump was really irrelevant. Do you think he intended to hit the guy in the head yes or no? If you don't want to give him the benefit of the doubt, no one gets it, like Cameron. To grade it medium impact (like Mumford's) would just be absurd.
The ball was gone and then he jumped, elbow out, and got him in the face. He didn't need to do that. It wouldn't have been as bad if it wasn't so late but it was.

I'm almost convinced the MRP are deliberately trolling the football going public. How did Wines get off that? He collected him in the head, no attempt to tackle, it's all too insane for freaking words. Redpath cops 2 for a love tap! There is major corruption happening here, i can't believe it's just total incompetence. The Greene decision is a "green" light to stick the boots up any time you want, the precedent has been set. They are absolutely out of control at the MRP.

No idea. It's bizzare. Jumped, late, didn't choose to tackle, head contact?
