Cannot believe a guy with all his assets ie pace -break the lines -penertrating kick etc how under utilized his time at Geelong has been
Pity Chris Scott didnt coach him for his entire career -and he might have been a superstar . Mark Thompson for some idiotic reason didnt rate him -i will never forget in the week before the 08 GF and one player had to miss out Thompson said in his typical arrogant way -theres only one player in mind -and i thought at the time -you tool head -you better not mean Wojincski !

I think it would be really interesting if say in a practise match Wojincski played against Bartel in the centre -i think Wojincski would kill him . Im not knocking Bartel-hes clever good mark reliable kick etc -but just because popular opinion suggests one thing it doesnt mean it is correct . I can remember years ago Bob Davis saying that Gordon Hynes (who played 50 games ) should have been a better player than Bill Goggin who played 250 games

Bottom line Wojincski is an absolute gun.

Get a grip mate.

Good player who has had the opportunity to forge an excellent career.

Was never going to be a superstar!

He and Varcoe offer great run which is in not great supply to Geelong.
Is in our best 22. Agreed

He's played over 150 games and is a dual Premiership player, in the pantheon of Geelong players over the history of the game he will be fondly remembered for his pace and line-breaking. He's played in twice as many flags and games overall as for example Tony Polinelli, who was feted similarly in the 60's.

When I go to Geelong games, every week, the 2 players I love to watch are Wojo and Varcoe. Ablett was the other. The team as a unit is brilliant to watch, but those 2 have that excitement factor.SJ is great, but can also be exasperating. Also starting to really enjoy Mitch Duncan. Could be a real class act, ditto Bundy.

Re: Wojincski Should Have Been A Superstar

The big problems Wojo had going back 4 or 5 years was his poor finishing at top pace and not finding the ball.

Far too often he sprayed the shot at goal or missed the target. In 2007 he learnt to settle just before he kicked and this made him much more valuable - and much more fun to watch.

He is getting more of the ball these days and playing less deep in defence. This allows him more space to run. It also makes his over zealous tackling (which often resulted in free kicks for the opposition close to goal) less of a problem.

Borderline 22 player - but we are blessed.

He's a good average player. Nothing wrong with that as he has had a great career. But never has been a superstar or never would have been.

Re: Wojincski Should Have Been A Superstar

He is a very good player who would be feted in almost any other club right now.

But this is a man who strides on to the field each week in the midst of a pantheon of footballing gods, many of whom are already etched forever in the minds and accounts of all who have seen them. In the company of such Immortals, Wojo has twice stood astride the pinnacle of our game & accepted the love & praise (if not at least the grudging respect) of all who appreciate the Great Game.

I very much doubt that he would prefer to be a big fish in a smaller pond.

Wojcinski is my favourite player but he's a long way short of superstar status. He is not necessarily in the best 22.

Enright rarely loses one-on-one contests. Wojcinski rarely wins.

He regularly clumsily overcommits at the contest because he doesn't know how to take his foot off the accelerator.

But he's exhilarating when he wins plenty of the ball. Hope he's in good form for September.
