If Peter said "Geelong fixed the holes in their list by signing Dangerfield, Henderson, Zac Smith and Scott Selwood" then it would be incorrect usage for Cormac to say later, "As Peter alluded to, we've signed Dangerfield and a few others to boost our stocks."


Don't try to get fancy. You should just say: "As Peter said, we've signed Dangerfield…."



"Alluded" means to hint at something... to say something without actually saying it…



Correct usage-

Peter: Don't worry. We're going to have a good season. Stephen Wells has been busy.
Freddie: Bullshit, you guys are farked. You're too old. The Catters are going down this year.
Cormac: No. As Peter alluded to, we've signed Dangerfield, Henderson and few others to boost our stocks
