Worst Channel 9 Commentator

The Channel 9 commentators have reached an all time low. Ian Healy and Tony Greig are just awful to listen to; this from someone who doesn't usually care too much about commentators. I don't have to always agree with them, but they are so often wrong.

the entire "team" is woeful. they don't even know the rules of the game, take the discussion on the light for instance yesterday...

tubs makes the most sense out of all of them. but couldnt listen to him all day.
slats is like a little kid in a candy store.
nicholas is over the top, and makes calls like usmans flick "being asian-like". what a w***er.
benuad is benaud.. no need to comment there, his runs are on the board, but he cant go on much longer.
healy is an arrogant disgrace. he talks so much shit, then acts like he's professor in physiology.
chappelli is an even angrier grumpier bastard than me.. it's about time he brought up the glory days again and talked about facing john snow.
grieg should just stick to sri lankan games so he can bar up there and stop annoying the rest of us. he's past it.

could be worse though... we could have a full time nz commentary team to listen to. the only team thats more embarrassingly biassed than the australians. away series vs are painful to listen to. thankfully we only have ian smith for 2 tists.

None of them are great, but Healy is the worst by a long long way. The waffle that comes out of his mouth is cringeworthy most of the time

agreed with the opening post. i usually dont care too much about commentators however the rubbish we are no subjected to is seriously as bad as i can recall.

there are a number of them that do my head in and are unbearable to listen to - however for me the clear winner is healy. just woeful. arrogance, bias and just generally rubbish.

What happened to the days when there was actually an international presence in the commentary box? Michael Holding was great, there was also a Pakistani I believe...
The thing that annoys me is that it's obvious the only one of the panel who watches much international cricket is Tony Grieg who I cannot stand. Whenever I watch a test from the subcontinent I am always impressed with he cricket knowledge of the commentators, are we too stupid to listen to commentators with an accent?

It astounds me that people who commentate the game for a living have so little idea about the rules.

slats for mine. they're all terribly irksome but at least the others offer some form of insight every now and then. slats just jabbers rubbish and swoons over new south players. occasionally he asks the others a decent question and stimulates a bit of worthy chat but in general its justs oohs and ahs from him. its almost as if he reads the syndey press then regurgitates what they write but frames it as a question, as if its just crossed his mind.

tbf they're all second rate. richie is the only one i look forward to and mark nicholas, i like him now and then. radio 4 cricket. now that is win

I have no problem with them, but you do get much better commentary when we play overseas.
