Sounds amazing.

The spiders could be a drawback for the other half though.

Then next to it there is a huuuuuuge island that we didn't stop at. Would one day love to do a Mauritius/Seychelles cruise because I heard Seychelles has the most beautiful clear water out.

I think I'm getting a bit off topic though :p

We have gone off topic, but all the sensible footy talk is just about exhausted and it's gonna be a loooong off-season.

Doesn't hurt to take the mind and imagination on a small vacation......:)

I dont see geelong coming close to grandfinal, i believe geelong has had their time and now they are rebuilding. I think Port will be too good for any team even including the hawks
You are possibly baiting, I'll take it.
Hawks could well be the first team for decades to go 4 in a row.
Every time they suspect a potential weakness, they have the power to correct it, and that playing list is near perfect.
Anyway, 2015 is Hawks until proven otherwise.

I like looking at our list, especially the improvement of our youngsters.

M Duncan, is a classic example of a player that seems to improve 10%-15% per annum in terms of influence on the game and possessions. Guthrie and GHS have shown that improvement also this year, and I could see them lifting to approx. 20 possessions a game next season. Caddy will bolt next season under a good preseason and no injuries - he avg 23 possessions in his last 5 games last season.

If the likes of a Murdoch with his outside run can lift to 16 odd possessions and still hit the scoreboard, then suddenly he can assert greater influence up the ground, and may add that line-breaking speed lost from Bundy and Varcoe.

If those youngsters, and say a Lang can step up with 15 odd possessions similar to Varcoe's output, then suddenly we are quite competitive around the ground. Clark and Hawkins could dominate, and I really think our KPDs will get the job done again next year.

If we can add one more top line midfielder that's ready made, then with the addition of Clark, I think the window remains open slightly. Thurlow and Bews can add pace to the defence, and Kolo can step up to provide cover to one of our KPDs.

Cockatoo or Blakely are probably the best mid/utilities to be able to compete at top level in season one.

Lonergan staying was critical, and IMO we will remain top 4.

Nah not baiting just honesty.
I think the hawks have gotten a need in frawley for a key back
But after being at that hawks vs port prelim i strongly believe that the power should be near favourites as we were lucky they didnt finish us in the first quarter, and in the last we got a few lucky free kicks (hodge) and lucky not to give away one with 3 seconds left (lake)
We will be up there again top 4, as for the cats i see them 5-7 on the ladder

Do not want Cockatoo.

What did you think during the 2013 prelim, if we had the week off, if we had Chappy, if Varcoe had kicked truly, IF IF IF; wasn't to be.
Same this year, Port played like no tomorrow, but faded, the superior team got nearly 5 goals up despite that nervous start, then really cues in the rack.
You specialise in close prelims recently.

VD…there was no cue in the rack in the last quarter of the PF…the Hawks were desperate and hanging on for dear life. Most Hawk supporters let out a big sigh of relief when the siren rang.

Shades of 2007 really.

We can't and won't win the flag in 2015. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we missed the eight.

I think for us to miss the 8 we have to start losing at home. We win all of those, that will be 7-8 wins already with another 4-5 need to make the 8 (based on this years results)

Hopefully the club has finally learnt their lesson and we will be super fit next year, so should help us get a few more wins.

The way I see it we will have fallen further behind Hawthorn, Sydney, Port Adel, Freo and North next year and I anticipate being passed by GC, Richmond, Adelaide, and possibly even Brisbane. We will need to win at least 7 games at home to have any chance of making finals as I can't see us winning too many interstate.

Yeah interstate is the massive worry.

I don't see how we have fallen behind Freo - they haven't acquired any big names yet during trade week and guys like Pav, McPharlin & Sandi are all a year older; I don't see them as necessarily being any better next year then they were this year and this year.
GC is reliant on Ablett - there are some reports out that his shoulder is worse then first thought, but no confirmation from him or the club. It will be interesting to see how bad or not so bad his shoulder is because his availability & his impact on games will go a long way to how GC's season unfolds. Gary plays a full season & GC should play finals, if he doesn't play a full season then a lot of pressure on others to step up and the question is can they step up & be consistent.
Brisbane may been putting together a good midfield, but they don't have a key forward who will dominate (yet), they lost Patful who was extremely important to them down back and may yet lose Merrett - they won 7 games in 2014 & we won 17, doubt there will be more than a 10 game turn between the sides.
Adelaide & Ricmond will be the interesting teams - if they play at the top of their game they can beat anyone, but can they be consistent across the whole season.
Hawks, Swans, Port & North should all be pushing for top 4 next year, but you never know what you are going to get with a team like North - will the new players actually help them and are either Waite or Higgins an improvement on the personal they had this year?

I'm back to my pre-2007 days of glass-half empty forecasting. When you have been following Geelong since the mid 70's it's a safe fall back position!

I'm predicting a decline in our performance relative to Freo who I think will remain about where they were this year. Add Beams and Christensen to Brisbane and they will have a very dangerous midfield. Much better than ours. Just need a forward target.

Rumours everywhere that GAJ's shoulder is not a good story.

Interestingly, he hasn't signed his contract yet.

I have read the stuff about his shoulder - be interesting to see how true the rumours are.

I have also read that he has re-signed and that it was leaked he has re-signed but then all reports were removed and that the GC were hoping to use his re-signing to drive their membership campaign for next year announcing both on the same day - "Gary has re-signed, have you?" sorta thing; not sure how well it will work. Or that could be complete crap with people having no idea what they are talking about.
