yeah way too hard to know so it's just a bit of fun.. like 98% of threads. Dom Kane would probably be out.

C: Salopek - Boak - Pearce
R: Lobbe/Trengove - Hartlett - Banner

Broadbent - Gray - Pittard - Moore

is he the same size as his father at this point in time?

Bout 180cm tall which is a decent size for a quality in and under midfielder, has a nice strong left foot kick as well, better kick than what his old man was.

If he can grow as strong and determined as his old man over time, could be a very very good midfielder.

Ablett, if he is still around, will hopefully be tearing up the forward line, and for the sake of the exercise let's exclude Bartel, Kelly, ling, Corey etc. As they will have retired or at least be on their last legs.

Ruck: Hawkins
Rover: Selwood
Rover: Varcoe
Center: Duncan
Rotating: ????????

In reality, we don't have the young players coming through. At least we rarely get to have a look at young guns, given the nature of our team.

Far to hard to forecast a five year rotation as my guess is that half the players in it haven't been drafted yet.

We are in a similar situation

We have some good kids, but seem to have more KPP than young mids at this time.

Does the F/S bidding system effect the ability of the Doggies to get both kids? Reports on them are quite good indeed.

Bit hard atm. Maybe:

Vickery in the ruck?

Martin
Cotchin
One of Foley or Jackson

Rotating:

Deledio, Foley/Jackson, Collins, and any decent top 10 picks if we get them.

Cotchin and Martin are the only two that look certain to be in there in 5 years. Deledio will rotate between back and midfield. Plus if we get a decent guy at pick 4 I'd assume he'd replace Jackson or Foley. Collins will play wing if he can pick it up a bit.

Roughead
Cooney
Griffen
Higgins
Ward
Wood
Howard
Wallis (F/S)

What?

Wood hasn't played a game yet, Howard has been injured since he got drafted and Wallis (and Libba) haven't even been drafted! How can you say they're gonna be part of the engine room in 5 years?

Perhaps Reid and Picken would be better options...

Ruck nomination would be Roughead, easy.

McNamara....Pendlebury....Beams
Thomas....Sidebottom....Wellingham

ROTATING: Dane Swan, Marty Clarke (he's coming back baby), Jarryd Blair, Heath Shaw, Ben Sinclair, Josh Thomas, possibly Luke Ball (will be 31). Very happy with that. Pendles is already a star of the comp, Thomas and Beams are quickly becoming guns and Sidebottom and Wellingham could be anything. That will be a pretty handy rotation as well I reckon.

I dont know the rules perfectly well myself but from everything I've read from many different ppl the impression is we can and will select both players with our 1st and 2nd round draft picks regardless of whether two picks within the top 10 are bid for them.

The rule is that any team can bid on the f/s player in question. This club (Dogs in this case) then is forced to use its next available draft pick on that player. You guys to grab these guys will have to use up your first and second draft picks on them. Otherwise one will almost certainly find a different home.

Ruck: Jamar/Gawn
Centre: Scully
Rover: Trengove
Ruck Rover: Gysberts

Rotating: Moloney, Sylvia, Mckenzie, Davey (if he isnt now permanantly at HBF), Tapscott and potentially Viney with a F/S pick

Jamar/Spencer

Scully
Trengove
Gysberts
Tapscott
McKenzie
Bennell
Cheney (rotate)
Moloney (rotate)
Sylvia (rotate)

Where is Grimes and Blease ? Bennell and Cheney won't be part of any "engine room" and I doubt Moloney will be around.

Scully, Trengove, Gysberts, Grimes, Blease, and McKenzie will form a terrific nucleus. Throw in Tapscott, Bail and the best 16 year old in the country in Jack Viney and it has the makings of something special.

Sorry thought my first post hadn't come through

i like grimes in the backline, he shows a lot of courage and is a very good defender, also you need some players with good skills in the backline as well, the jury is out on blease as well

Obviously Blease hasn't played a game, but I liked what I saw at junior level and I see no reason that he won't become a player.

You expect Grimes to still be playing on a HBF in 5 years time ? Besides HBF's are rotating mids in the modern game.

The club has already committed to both boys (have purposedly left their father's jumper numbers free) and is realistic to know that we will have to use our first 2 picks to select them.
