Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

I hadnt had Bailey's for over a year, and had a bottle the other week and was totally smashed (happy drunk).

A bit of pre-draft training to acclimatize to Baileys again.

I hadn't had it for years until you mentioned it and then a customer pissed me off at work, so I started!:D Having a bit more training now. :thumbsu:

But, will Orakpo continue to shine in a 3-4 defense?

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

ewww ... statistics , i've got programming concepts and operating system theory .. thursday and friday, but then i get friday arvo, saturday and sunday to catch up on NFL news/WCE v Swans game

and procrastinating on fb does not help.

I've conceded failing the exam - only 30% - so at the moment it's damage control XD.

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

Rams have traded D-Lineman Adam Carriker to the Redskins to move up in the 5th Round, and the two teams have swapped 7th Round picks as well.

What do we think? Does that mean Suh? :p

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

Oh the irony that as most Americans complain about the 'socialism' of their healthcare reform, they'll most likely celebrate their glee in their NFL teams newest player acquired from the Draft. Unbeknowns to most, it is the same government intervention the NFL is using to re-distribute players that the US government is using to re-distribute healthcare.

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

Always interesting the draft system in all sports.

From the footage I have seen, there is no way Suh should be there at 8, he's a beast.

Top 3 I would think.

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

Can't believe I'm going to miss the draft, and there is nothing I like more than a good draft. Am going to be on station both Friday and Saturday. Here's hoping I get called out to a patient watching the draft right around pick 7....

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

Couple of interesting Denver tweets from my favourite tweeter MoveTheSticks -

I've been told that Philly is likely to move up to Denver's spot tomorrow... lots of stuff floating out there right now

I would be shocked if the Broncos ending up selecting at 11... I've had 4-5 different sources say they are bailing out of there

I'd be stoked if Philly moved up. We get another 2nd rounder and move into prime 1st round position to take Pouncey/Iupati...

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

1. Rams - Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
This guy is a once in a generation talent at DT. How can anyone skip him? I have no clue. He has superior technique, size and strength to excel in the league. Besides, Spags is a Dline coach and would love someone to base his game planning around. My POV – Rams dropped Bulger as a smokescreen, he isn’t on a team yet and is probably ready to sign back up after the draft.

2. Lions - Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma
I love this guy for one reason – he relies on superior technique. He’ll put in the hard yards to succeed and not rely on his strength or size. People say Lions must draft Okung to protect their investment – but McCoy is just too good to pass up on.

3. Tampa Bay - Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma St.
Tampa Bay need to protect their investment in Freeman. I would think they would pick Berry up here, however Okung is just too good to pass up on. This should enable a much more dynamic offence – a shame their defence will still blow.

4. Redskins – Bryan Balaga, OT, Iowa
Redskins said they wanted Bradford, however they really want a new tackle to protect McNabb. No matter the quality of the QB – there is no way in hell they will do a good job with a leaky line.

5. Chiefs – Trent Williams OT, Oklahoma
Question here is do they go tackle or Berry. Who am I kidding, it’s Williams here. They want Bowe to receive passes, Charles to run around defences and Cassell to throw them. The only way they are going to do that is through drafting an OT.

6. Seahawks – Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
Personally I don’t see the attraction in this guy – he had a good O-line for practically his whole college career. However he is considered the top rated QB in the draft. I can not see Seattle sitting here and seeing the QB of there dreams just slip passed. Carroll – this will be his first mistake.

7. Browns – Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers
Shocked? Then I did my job. The reasoning behind this pick is simple – the Browns will want to protect Delhomme and give him as much time that is needed. Davis looks to me to be the ideal RT in this draft who can pass block and open the holes for Harrison.

8. Raiders - Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland
Al isn’t stupid, he knows to insure his investments. The best way to insure they can play is to protect them with mighty Bruce Campbell, a physical freak who could be a feature LT for years to come … or another bust by the Raiders.

9. Buffalo – Charles Brown, OT, USC
Honestly, I don’t like picking up six OT’s in the top nine pick – but this is the reason the teams are down this low. Edwards is a good player and could of excelled if he had some protection – so I do believe Buffalo will pick up some protection for their offense.

10. Jaguars – Eric Berry, S, Tennessee
He almost slipped out of the top ten … almost. Quality player, he is just at the wrong position. However the Jaguars have to get the best player available for their team.

11. Broncos - Jared Odrick, DE-DT, Penn State
Bronco’s biggest weakness is the D-Line – Odrick provides a solution.

12. Dolphins - Jason Pierre-Paul, Whatever you want him to be, South Florida
Dolphins are most likely to bring in some new blood to train. Too good to pass.

13. 49ers – Derrick Morgan, DE/OLB, Georgia Tech
Adds another threat to the LBers at the 49ers – making the pass rush a lot more scary.

14. Seahawks – Taylor Mays, S, USC
Carroll will draft someone from USC in his first year – why not him? Mistake #2

15. Giants – Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama
There is room for a surprise at this pick – but the Giants need an ILB. Should do the job.

16. Titans – Joe Haden, CB, Florida
Ideal pick here, CB is probably the biggest weakness at the Titans.

17. 49ers – Earl Thomas, S, Texas
Add him to the defence and they’re probably set to take on the league.

18. Steelers - Mike Iupati, OL, Idaho
Steelers may as well improve their interior linesman with what is probably the best in the draft.

19. Falcons - Sean Weatherspoon, LB, Missouri
Seems like the most logical choice to improve their linebackers

20. Texans – Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise State
Texans need a CB – Kyle Wilson is the best available.

21. Bengals – Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State
Bengals don’t shy away from a challenge. They also need new blood at WR

22. Patriots – C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson
Patriots may as well add some speed into the backfield to give them a running game

23. Packers – Sergio Kindle, LB, Texas
They want a 3-4 defence, he is the best 3-4 defender available

24. Eagles - Maurkice Pouncey, C, Florida
Eagles always draft O-Line first, this year it won’t be different.

25. Ravens - Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma
Need another passing target to move the ball - most logical choice

26. Cardinals - Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame
Cardinals not convinced with Leinhart? No worries, another dud is on the way.

27. Cowboys - Brandon Graham, LB, Michigan
Cowboys could replace Hamlin, or they could get another pass rusher to have a nice deadly rotation.

28. Chargers - Dan Williams, DT, Tennessee
Not convinced the Chargers desperately need a RB, however I think they’ll love an interior D-Linesman.

29. Jets - Devin McCourty, CB, Rutgers
Revis Island only covers half the field. Why not cover the whole field?

30. Vikings - Brian Price, DT, Cal
Vikings will need to replace the Williams wall some day. Why not have some insurance in place just in case of a Star Caps suspension as well?

31. Colts - Rodger Saffold, OT, Indiana
Colts made it clear they wanted a new OT, this may be the answer.

32. Saints - Nate Allen, S, South Florida
They’ll need to replace Sharper to keep their defence efficient. This may be the best choice.

33. Rams – Trade – Everyone wants this pick and the Rams need too much to hold onto it.

Happy reading everyone

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

I can't state enough how much I don't want Gresham. he's purely a receiving TE, there's no need to waste a first rounder on that when we can get a less heralded one of those later on.

CB, DT/DE, OLB are much bigger needs than TE.

How many of Larkis' picks do you think he'll get correct? I don't know enough (read: anything) about the college players calibre to rank them.. just going off the mock drafts ... Larkis is likely to get 85% of his picks drafted and
whether he has some 'right team selection' is another story. Don't sweat it DB10. Larkis is just having a crack and good on him. I'd be pleased with Mike Iupati as the Steelers pick #18 but don't think he'll be there considering he is a 'projected' certified starter from the get-go. Other teams need OL urgently.

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

ah yeah I know, but there's just enough mocks (including ones lots of people actually read :p) out there with us taking Gresham. it's been annoying me for ages. :p

I think Gresham's one of the first round rated players to fall to the second because of his position, there's not enough value in it. particularly when it is supposed to be a very deep defensive class.

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

I'm not going off mocks, that much - I am just trying to be a lot more crazy then the consveratives out there are doing. However I think a good TE is valueable for a team - specially a recieving option. Look at what Davis, Witten, Gates, Clark and Gonzalez do for their offense. I can't see one slipping out of the first round and the Ravens are the last possible team I think would select one (Cardinals just have too many holes this time around).

Take it as a compliment as I think the rest of the team is up to scratch

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

"24. Eagles - Maurkice Pouncey, C, Florida

Kevin Kolb, QB
Trevor Laws DL, Desean Jackson WR
Jeremy Maclin WR, Lesean McCoy RB

Last few drafts. Dont think thats true.

Centre is especially unlikely.

Doesnt really matter though. I think you can bank on us not staying in our original position, making a mock of our draft rather pointless.

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

Of course there will probably be five trades in the first round this year, five of the top ten in the second as well at least on top of that.

Also I can see the Eagles just trying to get the little bit extra protection for Kolb this year, just my own prediction.

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

Yeah im not saying right or wrong, just adding my perspective.

More likely to go RG, or RT, fill the hole that was supposedly going to be Shawn Andrews, when we were all salivating over our O line last off season.

Jacksons still fairly young, and Cole adds decent depth at C.

Actually, to be really honest, i think theres almost no doubt our first pick, and the vast majority of what we do are going to be defensive.

Look for a trade up for Berry, or Thomas IMO.

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

Look for a trade up for Berry, or Thomas IMO.

I can actually see that happening, if Berry somehow lasts till #8, I expect the Eagles to start to enquire, they have a lot of draft picks to be able to move up to the top 10 if they think Berry will be taken before they pick ..

Mayock has Thomas rated higher though, both look the goods on tape

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

In regards to the Raiders, there are so very many awesomely talented players in this years draft, unfortunately cannot draft them all. I wont name all the billion players that i'd be ecstatic to see drafted, but what would make me very happy is if Tebow ended up at Oakland. He's exactly what we need at QB. But other things that would make me happy is if we addressed OL, NT, and MLB as well.

But even if Al went nuts drafting sexy like Berry, Mays, Kindle, Owusu-Ansah, Chaney, etc, I'd be okay with. Just want to see good talented players on the Raiders who END UP living up to the hype.

But yeah, Tebow, even at #8, I'd be over the moon (that also relates to Madden 11 having a lefty ready to roll, lol)

Re: 2010 NFL Pre-Draft: Gossip, Theories, News, Opinions

your o-line will get Tebow killed.
