Saw this on twitter. Gillard and Swan having coffee while ignoring Rudd being sworn in on tv this morning.

Funny about that as last night Graham Richardson said he is a close friend of Shortens & had been having conversations with him for a couple of weeks on the state of affairs, will be interesting just how the future will judge this so-called close confidant of Julia Gillard.

The grub and the slug. Deserve each other.

Have read up on Shortens b'ground in the book "Downfall" written by one of Shortens mates (AFR journo Aaron Patrick,) a very favourable account. But from it realised that Shorten, supposedly the hope of the future, the heir to Hawke, is nothing more than a showboating, social climbing purveyor of cheap and easy lies.

Then listening to his torturous denial that he had been dishonest on radio today, no self awareness, none at all. It's that ingrained. He does not realise how he has exposed himself.

Should have known Contra's assessment would be spot on when I got sucked in by him last year.

Would have had some effect as at least she would have had clearer air to breath, there were times that Julia seemed to be on the rise with good news stories to tell when one of two things would happen either Kevin Rudd's head would pop up out of no where with a catch cry of "hi guys i'm still here" or she would some how manage to stuff it up herself.

Apparently Paul Howes and AWU faction isn't happy with him.

Smart by Abbott not to put forward a no confidence motion. Australians have seen Labor remove two PMs, and so Abbott isn't going to repeat the trend - he'll allow the people to do it. Besides, he'll probably lose.

Howes isn't happy with Shorten, but what is the AWU going to him, really? He's their great white hope, they can't afford to touch him.

The base mendacity Bill has showed over the last few weeks right up until only 15 mins or so before he turned his coat means he is only a dark despair to the movement now - they'll be better off nixing him.

Combet is from the left and the AWU will want nothing to do with him.

Jason Clare getting the gig will require Paul Howes to shift his support back to the NSW Right. God help the ALP if that happens, it's pretty much the only thing that could make their situation worse.

Last night on skynews they was saying Paul Howes and Sam Dastyari use to be good friends until Dastyari switched to backing Rudd a while ago.

They can't nix him. If Rudd loses the election who is left to lead the party?

We'll have to wait to see who is around after the election and which factional groups have the most influence. If they win Rudd will obviously stay on as leader but for how long until they get sick of him again.

All class mate, all class. It seems to me Penny Wong's sexuality threatens some here, why else would you use such derogatory language?
thanks for the unsolicited psychological assessment.

I actually timed it how long it woujld take for a response- 90seconds. Impressive.

she's doing the full crotch press.

Eeewwwww

Knowing the history of politicians bridging the divide so to speak (Buswell & Carles, Evans & Kernot) ... that's too close for comfort.
