I’m not fussed he’s leaving, but am interested as to which other clubs are losing an assistant that they want to keep? Particularly if a promotion isn’t involved. Would think it not particularly common.

Godden is rated highly inside the 4 walls. Not so much the industry though.

He just got voted "Development coach of the year" so assuming someone does.

I think the problem with Godden last time was he didn't have the AFL players and system knowledge, you can't learn it in an off-season.

He would be better prepared this time around if he got an opportunity but I think a development role is his level.

I think it will be Knight or Hombsch.

I have wondered if we'd go back to Tom Lynch to see if he'd be up for the position. Is now North's VFL coach, so not sure if he'd be available or not.

True. Happens throughout the industry. But undeniably - at this early stage - we are going to lose 2 useful players in McAdam, Doedee - have two good players out injured for at least the first half of the year in Harry and Murray, and have now lost a very good assistant coach

We have Chris Burgess coming in

It’s likely going to be a negative off season for us and puts us behind the 8 ball starting next year.

Has done a great job with Glenelg. Wouldn't be the worst choice.

TBF, he shared that award with Mark Williams. Be interesting to know the criteria. I'd be surprised if too much effort went into the selection though
