Haha nice! I also saw a Guerra in the NRL, if I'm not mistaken in one of the semifinalists or maybe even in the Grand Final.

I've met Guerras with Italian ascendancy and Spanish ascendancy (as is my case). I'd guess those Australian Guerras probably originate from Italy? If I recall correctly, RussellEbertHandball once told me there were a lot of Italian immigrants in Australia

My mum's cousin married a Guerra. He was of Italian heritage.

AFL Europe executive Megan Hession has an ambitious agenda

...the newly appointed AFL Europe chief executive officer is wasting no time to lead from the front with an ambitious agenda to push AFL into British schools, create a youth and female AFL competition in Europe, have games on free-to-air UK TV and Europe’s champion handballers and Gaelic footballers to switch codes.

And her one-woman whirlwind in Europe has got the backing of AFL hierarchy in Australia and major sponsors who are looking for new opportunities in the northern hemisphere for the billion-dollar game.

Ms Hession, 39, had been working in sports management predominantly with crisis and player welfare with clients from the Premier League football when she met Aussie strength and conditioning coach Darren Burgess, then with Liverpool FC.

In 2012 she attended a Port Adelaide and Western Bulldog exhibition clash in London’s The Oval with him, now with Port’s coaching staff in her first AFL taste.

Naples was part of the Spanish crown for centuries. Maybe that's the origin of Guerra surnames in both countries.

Have watched that Port Adelaide and Western Bulldog exhibition clash in London on YouTube several times ...

diegodcg glitch01 Lockhart Road I'm not sure what's the hold up but I've received word from HQ that the watchalf.com.au vouchers won't be hitting our inboxes till the middle of the month.

I've been making do with State of Origin classics and the best of our old Magpies games but those old video taped games aren't so clear and hard on my eyes. I got used to crystal clear near HD streaming.

(actually I've been watching and enjoying rugby union since the world cup as well. lots of good games online too)

Last season I got my watchAFL subscription in the 2nd round so I wouldn't know when they usually release the vouchers. I am missing the service as well though - in particular I wanted to watch a couple of Gold Coast Suns games to see a bit of Charlie Dixon in action but have been unable to.

In the meantime I've been watching the many sports I follow (such as the recently started NBA season), but I'm really missing PAFC football.

This youtube channel has lots of classic South Australian footie games: https://www.youtube.com/user/SAfootballarchive

If you're interested in rugby league as well this website is a great resource: www.rugbyleaguedvds.com So much classic stuff on there and you can gain acccess to all the online videos for a one-time payment of £10 if I recall correctly.

diegodcg if you want to watch a classic SANFL grand final check out 1980 Port v Norwood. The whole game is on youtube. The two traditional heavyweights of local footy, Port the blue collar working man's club, dockside workers and navvy singlets vs the white-collar college going dandies of the eastern suburbs. Yes despite both clubs crossing all manner of geographical and socio-economic boundaries that was the core of that battleground.

An absolutely sensational game of football played in withering heat (only 27C but coming off winter and out in brilliant sunshine) Port had smashed Norwood by 108, 90 and 55 points during the minor round of what was a magnificent season but had to dig deep late in the game as the Legs made a massive contest. Marvel at the imperious Greg Phillips at 21yo dominating CHB against much older more experienced men to get an idea of just how good a footballer he was.

Here's the 1994 Grand Final, the one that flattened any last remaining (interstate) objection to PAFC winning admission to the AFL:

One for you, too, Jimbo.

s**t sorry haven't logged onto bigfooty for ages (bad internet, so unfortunately bigfooty was lower on the priorities). I'm in Rio right now, and will be here until the 11th. PM sent.

No kissing you two!

You can't go to Rio and not see die god.

So, I listened to old mate Zakk and met up with 'die god' whilst I was visiting Rio last week. Presented him with a Power training t-shirt, hopefully we'll see a few selfies of him wearing it whilst cheering us on in Brazil.

It was a pleasure to meet you diegodcg. Let us know when you make your way down to Adelaide so we can take you out to a Power home game.

No kissing you two!

No kissing, but only because the missus was 3rd wheeling.
