I don't normally go on another team board after a game, win or lose, but just wanted to pop over and say well played and congrats for getting away with the four points.

You guys cop a bit of stick for the style of game you play but I found the tough contested footy of the second half more engrossing than the first quarter goal fest.

Anyway disappointed as I am that we failed to fully exploit our chances in the last quarter I was heartened by our style of play and hope to see more of it.

Cheers mate. Port are coming along nicely as well. It was a great game and I agree. The tight contests are much more worthwhile watching than the goal fests; goals become more valuable in the context of the game.

Really didn't know what happened .. we really pulled the last couple of minutes out of our ass ..
And re: finding the last half more engrossing than the first; you're not alone there. Absolutely thrilling game. Besides the horrible skills and decision making the guys employed at some times, I was mostly proud of them being able to hold off AND apply pressure.

Whenever half your team got the ball, I was close to pulling every single strand of hair out of my head. You'll kill teams if you keep playing like that.

To be fair, I think most of them have been pretty good. It's just a handful of ________s from every team that have to sook about something after a game like this. In ports favour I think they probably have a much lower percentage of these ________s compared to most other clubs on BF. Imagine the bitching about the umpiring we would have heard if we just beat the pies?

for whatever it's worth ... that was one of the best games i've seen a long while, both sides were awesome.

Too good for us yesterday. We just couldn't get in front for so long and when we did, we couldn't hang on. Both sides looked stuffed for so much of the last quarter, yet they both kept on going.

It was easier being a Port supporter in Sydney yesterday compared to Rd 2 when you shellacked us. I hope yesterdays game opened up the eyes of my fellow Port and the rest of the footy public that the swans are more than a boring shutdown footy side. They do the shut down stuff so well, but there are plenty of players who have dazzling skills.

Geez Jared Moore has kicked on this year. One day we will keep Goodes quiet for all 4 quarters and make sure O'Loughlin doesn't kick critical goals late in the game. I think that is the first game this decade a Port forward has beaten Leo Barry in a close game. September action beckons again for you guys. Should be deeper than last year. How deep? Who knows.

Cheers for the good sportsmanship guys. I just got back home after going over to watch the game, and whilst the locals were vocal and passionate to the point of feral to the game, they were so great to sit and watch the game with, many a good laugh and shout for a free kick was had. Top fun going over to see this match and enjoy the banter with the Port locals!!


...Of course, my reaction may not have been the same had we lost.

Yeah, but we're used to it. Comes with the game plan and just getting over it. We hardly win free kick counts, but they rarely cost us a game. Over it.
