Peterss has today faced a packed press conference at Gumbies HQ and we can report that he is fired up for the round one game against his former club and the side he won the best and fairest for in the West Coast Wonders.

"Firstly round 1 is finally here and there nomore of the shit and giggle pre-season comp....There are 4 points up for grabs in this match and its time to show the football world the Gumbies mean business this season with a big win against the West Coast w***ers...Oh im sorry did i just say that? I meant the Wonders"

"Yes the wonders have been in good form in the pre-season but that means nothing...They have peaked to early whilst we have just been quitely going about our business each day on the training track priming ourselves for this round one clash and we will prove it on the Weekend that we can beat every team in this competition"

When asked his thoughts on playing his former side in round one this is what Peterss had to say.

"I love it! They are nothing and never will be now that ive left....I was there best player last year and they are all just jealous that i have pissed off from their side and joined the soon to be 2009 premiers in the Gumbies."

Asked which player he would love to go head to head in his return match at Subiaco he said Kerrby.

"Well that an easy answer...Kerrby...The arrogant twat who was one of the reasons i left the club last year he didnt like me and i didnt like him and he screwed the club over several times being the former captain and continuing to get red cards....He thinks he is the king if this competition but the facts are he is the least respected and one of the jokes of the competition....Id love to slaughter him on the field this weekend but wherever Diablo wants to play me is fine as no doubt ill cross paths with Kerrby eventually this season"

He finished the interview with this statement to the competition.

"To the rest of the competition be warned - We have the best midfield in the competition and have had a massive recuiting drive in the off-season and the new players that have come into this side are bloody impressive and we are all ready and we mean business this season so underestimate us all you want....We dont care as we know our quality can and will bring us the premiership this season......BRING IT THE F**K ON!!!"

All i'm going to say is this week would be a real good week for him to get a red card. They are going to have to hide him on the bench to keep him from you

Wow, I severed my ties with the Wonders with a big more grace than that article. Bit harsh on Kerrby too, he's respected in the league IMO. Also worth noting on your off season recruiting: Flawed Genius > Peterss + Fatty Lumpkin.

I hope Rick18 either names Kerrby in the guts to go head to head with you or gives Croweater41 a week off from FF and name Kerrby there. See whether Diablo has the balls this early in the season to put one his better onballers 1-out at full back.
