Walker kicked 5.3. Had 1.3 to quarter time and all were gettable shots.

His work-rate was really quite terrific, he ran hard all over the ground and even at times played as a semi midfielder as he hovered around the packs, mainly out the back. Then he would run in off the centre square to met the contest after a bounce down. His best goal probably came in the second quarter when after the bounce down, the ball spilt to where he was as he had come in off the line. He gathered the ball about 70 out, ran a few metres and drilled it from 60. It was a bit Pavlich like.

He kicked 3 goals in a brilliant third quarter, one was very interesting. Norwood had virtually their entire team in the Dogs attacking zone but the ball was kicked forward from a contest to about the middle of the ground. 3 players were there, Walker, a teammate and a Dogs defender. Walker took the ball, took a bounce, there was starting to be a distance between him and his teammate to shoot a handball over to. Walker didn't bothere with the give and instead nailed the shot from about 40-45 out. If he missed he would've been bagged by everyone but he calmy slotted it. Phew! ;)

He took two marks out on the lead in the third term and drilled both. He really had a purple match but all day he got away from his direct opponent with ease on the lea.d He had some magnificent use of the body to get him out of the way.

Back to his work-rate, he covered a heck of a lot of ground. He even pushed back deep into defence once to follow his man and he took the saving mark on the goal line from a shot on goal. :thumbsu: He often presented from the Norwood kick-outs and all up probably had close to 20 possessions with 6-7 marks and 5 tackles. His tackling was very good. He had a few dodgy moments as well, a few holding the balls by trying to take the entire team on and he hit a few contests very poorly with a lack of intensity. He took his eyes off the ball once or twice and seemed hesitant to take a hit. All up it was a fine performance as he kicked 5, tackles well and worked hard to make himself an option.

Will Young had a shocking afternoon unfortunately. Had an okay first term and he was up against Chris Gowans at times and then Dutschke. Neither really did a whole lot when he was opposed to them so defensively he was good. However offensively he had the ball inside Norwood's defensive fifty, looked around and eventually decided to kick to a teammate. Unfortunately the ball was intercepted and the Dogs ran it forward to kick their first of the day. About 10 minutes later he went to kick out from a behind and stepped over the mark. Soon after he was benched and sat out the remaining 15 or so minutes of the second term.

He only came on with about 4-5 minutes left in the third and went forward as a decoy type forward for Walker and Rowe. He looked okay in the role but only had a couple of handballs. He went off for the final 10 minutes of the term. Find it hard to believe that a guy that's been so solid all year could only play about 50% of the game because of one poor mistake, seems overly harsh. All up he had a good season though.

And well done to Massie on a great game in his last outing for Norwood. :thumbsu:

Underrated career as well, between Carlton, Crows and Norwood think he nearly reached 200 senior games overall. Not a figure to be sniffed at!
Certainly put hit body in the way of harm many a time along with Bassett and Torney. Those 3 chopped out ball so well.

No Doubt!

Always admired they way he went about it. He was a gun younster and a genuine talent. Then injuries have definetly affected his career. However, for Kris to come in and knuckle down and still get the best out of himself is a credit to him. As Craigy said recently, he is still good enough to play AFL but we had to make the tough calls.

He has always given his all for the club and for that he will always be admired and respected by me. Apparently is a top bloke to boot.

Congratulations on a good career and all the best in the future to one of the hardest working players to put on a cros jumper. :thumbsu:

Champion Data's stats of North/South:

Phil Davis: 27 possessions, 10 marks, 6th best.

Rory Sloane: 22 possessions, 5 inside 50's, 1 goal.

Nick Gill: 14 disposals, 5 inside 50's, 4 hit-outs.

Tony Armstrong and Myke Cook a goal each, no idea on Gallman.

that's suprising

it felt like Gallman was best of all those

IMO Gallman>Davis>Sloane>Daylight>Armstrong>more daylight>Gill

I didnt know which number Cook was in the first half, and i couldnt spot him well, he isnt as blonde as I remember.

Gee, 27 touches and 10 marks sounds like a better than sixth best game, especially as his touches are usually effective. Great sounding effort from Davis :thumbsu:
the sanfl website has him as 4th best.

But I still beleive Gallman played as well and probably even better than Davis.

Nice to see numerous Crows players go.

Saw Dangerfield, McKernan, Otten and petrenko. And I beleive also Jacky (but Im not sure)

also sat in the public stand for once, and was lucky enough to have a chat with Tony Armstrong's mum :)

I think the true question is was Tony Armstrong's mum fortunate to have a chat with you? ;)

Good to see the young Crows out there to support their mates. :thumbsu:

4 goals and a listing in the Sturt Reserves best for Tom Lee. Very pleasing but I will wait on the official stats count before getting too excited.

It could prove an important game for him in keeping his place on the list though.

I saw that too, brought a smile to the face:thumbsu:

Just very loose. No pressure from either side. South were bloody terrible for most of it (yet managed to kick 7.0 in the 2nd term) and I think North had their minds on next week. Conditions were good though and it was a pretty high scoring game I guess.

Also saw the second coming of Jesus.

Jesse O'Brien got flattened, the noise was similar to that of someone getting smashed in the face. He was laying face down, arms spread and looked like he was dead. As soon as the runners came over to see if he was alright he got to his feet and ran off. ****en hilarious. Also got the ball about a minute later because no South player had picked him up, we willed him to kick a goal after having two bounces but he handpassed to Jimmy who goaled.

that was bloody amusing

almost as funny as Porps jumping off the ground and marking it on his chest in the middle of the back. And Quinn ****ing up on the goal line

Has the club made a mistake in not playing this kid during the season in light of Bock's injury?

Maybe against the Eagles he should have played?????:rolleyes:
