Both dual brownlow medalists. Which player has been better so far over the course of their career?

Judd has been the 2nd best midfielder in the last decade to Ablett, just a pure champion of the game.

Goodes is the better all round footballer, I'd also like to see how Judd is going when he is 31 and on the verge of 300 games.

Kinda hard to judge, both have done the miraculous and won numerous games off their own boot, but play in very different ways will go with Goodes for a combination of flexibility, durability, and pure Bias

Judd.
Compare All australians, Club B&Fs, Brownlow performance. Plus Judd is 2 and a half years behind him.
I love goodes, really rate him, but he's just not quite up to Juddy's standards.

Goodes, the man is something special. Can play anywhere and do anything.

Superstar midfielders are much easier to find than a player as gifted at so many things such as Goodes. He has the pace to play midfield, he can take contested mark and has the strength to play like a pure KPP, he can kick a bag of goals, he can even play in the ruck.

Goodes, without even batting an eye. He's a once in a life time talent.

Tough call. Very tough call.

Judd, just.

Judd has had to do it with less natural ability.

Goodes is a genetic freak. Judd isn't.

Well said. I rate consistently, versatility and flexibility very highly and Goodes ticks all these boxes. He can play the inside role in the middle then burst out the back door with his run and carry. He can play ruck with his vertical leap, he can play forward by taking big contested marks, he can play the defensive role by edging out opponents with his body strength and of course he can kick goals.

Goodes is the complete package as far as a star footballer goes. I hope he wins the brownlow because Goodesy is easily better then Judd in terms of quality spread.

Judd isn't even in the top 5 midfielders in the league. Can run and that's about it.
Judd hangs off the pack waiting for cheap possessions; can't take an over head mark; backs out of contests; doesn't play any sort of defense; doesn't tackle a moving player; doesn't kick goals; doesn't perform against the top sides; misses easy shots on goal; can't handle physicality; has to rely on AFL/Umpire bias to win him free kicks; and the list goes on....

Goodes is more versatile and kicks goals. Can play forwards, midfield, back (probably not as a key defender) and even played ruck in his earlier days. Take Judd out of the midfield and he's about as useful as Betts against a top 8 side.

Goodes by a long way although he needs to stop whinnging in the umpires ears/face.

Thats probably the worst post ive ever seen

when you watch Carlton this weekend take a list of all the things he does/doesn't do in his game and tick/cross off those that he does/doesn't do that'll to try and prove me wrong.
  • Plays defense (Don't look at his stat sheet coz it'll show he laid tackles when his tackles are tackles of stationary or already tackled players) - Y/N
  • Tackles a moving player - Y/N

Well on these two points I can shed some light. Obviously these photos aren't from this weeks game, they are from last weeks game. Hope that still counts:

This week I'll ask him to pose in a contested marking situation.
