When you're following someone home from cricket because you have NFI where you are and the Moo runs a red light  Slam on the brakes and scare the shit out of an Asian family about to cross the street haha.

YES!!!!
Hate following someone and they keep going through the orange.
Last year after Hawthorn vs Essendon me and my Essendon supporting mate were looking for a feed so he tells me to follow him to the local kebab van as I have no idea where it is. He keeps going through oranges so I ended up pretty much going through red so I could keep following him. Lucky it was about 12am so not many on the roads

Americans whinging they've been forgotten after the "superstorm" while the rich areas are getting seen to first... Really, they're playing that card when the countries that got hit before America have barely been mentioned on the news, meanwhile there's a concert to raise funding to restore New Jersey...

Saw a girl on twitter abuse the hell out of her followers for only offering prayers and "thoughts" via twitter. As opposed to helping her out and chipping in so she can replace food that she lost during the week because of the power being cut.

Well, my family and I can't live on good intentions, Marge! Oh, your family's out of control, but we can't blame you, because you have goooood intentions!

Your :D

From my viewing, I noticed the people most likely to look fully before crossing are older. most of the people walking straight across without lookign were young girls.
I find old people to be the worst, seen at least twice old farts on a walking frame crossing a 6 lane road away from an actual crossing...

A school girl a few mates of mine knew got hit and killed by a train doing the exact same thing in around '04 or so.

She pulled back open the spring gate that is for people leaving the crossing and stepped right into the path of the express train that was coming through.

And yet I'm sure it was still the government's fault right?

What the **** are you on about? o_O

Of course it isn't. If you want to go out of your way to circumvent the barrier stopping you and step out in front of a speeding train then there's probably a good chance you were at fault.

Sorry needed a smiley in mine! Totally agree but it seems like every time a pedestrian gets killed by a train someone always pops up and blames the government for it ("too many level crossings") even though they can't do much if people ignore all the warnings

People who are grieving and aren’t exactly thinking straight.

All they know is their loved one is needlessly dead, it’s not hard to understand why they may be acting a little irrational.

Ah ok. I'm certainly not blaming the government, I was just saying that getting rid of level crossings is a win for everyone.

Have you seen how many morons there are on the road? Chances are they are going to keep (completely their fault) blocking level crossings. If you get rid of as many as you can it's better for motorists and better for PT users. Win/win.

Not a win when we will have to pay for it with increased Taxes. Not to mention the crying from everyone about the roadworks all over the state.

There are so many road related things that taxes are already being wasted on, this would actually have a benefit. It can be done relatively quickly if the resources are put in, as Laburnum was a couple of years ago.

I'm not expecting anything to be done, and it doesn't affect me too much as I only need to go over a few LC's on a regular basis. But Melbourne's traffic isn't getting any better (see thread on GD) and this would be one way to make quite an improvement.

People who bitch about racing. It obviously reaches a crescendo at this time of year, and the last few years it’s really been on the rise and I can’t help but notice it, no matter how hard I try to ignore it. I know our national sport is whinging (and I’m whinging here) but FFS. I just had to listen to two ****wits sooking about it.

It’s so cruel and unethical”... the animal welfare warriors who somehow manage to ignore their nagging conscience and not give a flying **** for the other 51 weeks of the year

It’s for bogans”... yet you love the footy which attracts far more bogans than racing

Can’t believe it’s actually a public holiday”... yes, there are people out there who will even whinge about the government granting a public holiday

Vote with your feet... switch off and ignore it, and let the rest of us gamble in peace.

In the late 1800s, Melbourne had a population of 250k – 300k, and the cup drew up to 100k people. That’s why it’s a public holiday: historical reasons, like all other public holidays. It would always have been an unofficial holiday for many workplaces, and so the government granted an official holiday to ensure workers are treated relatively fairly and in line with their peers.

The fact that tickets to Summadayze in Adelaide cost the same as the other cities yet we miss out on Hot Chip, SBTRKT, Fake Blood, Jesse Rose, Adrian Lux and more.
