No ....you need to bring greater Asia into play to make it interesting....there are contenders in India and Pakistan maybe.. but no contest in Australia.

There was a puff piece about Port on the news tonight. Port trained... they ran... it was windy... they are nice... they may or may not be interested in Jurrah. It was pure filler, but it is happening more. Someone is feeding the media more puff. They gobble it up. There seems to be a new direction because I see more Port. (this is Melbourne and Port don't really exist) Kudos to the puff feeder. Port is everywhere!

Seems to be a bit of a rumour that a former Crows and WWT player who shares a name with a former Davis Cup tennis player, is linked to the Port (SANFL) coaching job. Journo at the Advertiser is the relevance to this thread.

I think it would be fitting if Adelaide's fine equalled the 'value' of its AFL license, with the SANFL taking the hit and walking away with nothing.

Exclude them from the 1st 3 rounds of the 2012, 2013 & 2014 National Drafts.

A fine of $600,000

Trigg sacked & Reid banished.

Tippett de-registered for the 1st 5 rounds of 2013.

Isn't he busy being a journo in Canberra?

The AFL have been waiting to catch out an interstate club jipping the salary cap and the Cows for right or wrong are going to get caned in a huge way. The media here are in lala land deluding themselves that they haven't done anything wrong but its going to be a bloodbath.
All I can say is I'm glad its them becasue if it was us the SANFL would be trying to close the doors and sell the license to Tasmania.

Yeah I had thought that was the case - and it may be - but did read today elsewhere he was back in Adelaide again. So many rumours about the Magpies job - so many linked to it, it will be good when the successful candidate is actually confirmed by the club.

I'm not sure that 5 rounds is enough for Tippett, players get just as many games for an accidental hit these days. 12 months out of all levels of footy would be where I would go with it.

5 for Tippett would be about right..a dumb footballer being lead around by idiots ..you are dealing with a club that is suppose to be beyond reproach and with an agency that should know what's legal and what isn't ....The only doubt with him is if he has been specificly told it would be a good idea if the AFL didn't know about this deal.

And now the Crows themselves will apparently be pleading for leniency because it was they who "alerted the AFL to the irregularities".
For about 2 years there's been whispers of a secret clause in Tippett's contract allowing him to go to the club of his choice, and each time they've been asked about it they've denied it's existence. Now they have the gall to claim they blew the whistle on themselves.
Of course, it would have nothing to do with Tippett's lawyers threatening legal action if the crows reneged on the deal, would it.
