“The club will be working closely with Jayden, his family and his management to determine the best course of action for his future,” Bond said.

For me if the club's releasing this much and Jayden's put all training on hold to go back east with his family (for further medical advice) it's likely pretty serious as far as his career is concerned, hopefully it's less serious regarding his general health and like you said potentially fixable.

Good luck Pitty! Had heard some very good reports about his progress, such a terrible blow for the young man.

This condition may never have been discovered outside of the professional environment, could have struck him down on a morning jog.

Best of luck Pitty, still has a life and that's a big positive!

Terrible news
Reading between the lines it sounds to me like a doctor in Perth has already given an opinion(no footy) now they are seeking further advice to see what others say and if it really is too risky to play on.

Fingers crossed for him that its nothing serious.

terrible news. my daughter was born with a heart defect that thankfully was fixed with surgery.

as much as i hate the dockers at the best of times (lets be honest with our history were pretty much rivals), i really do hope pitt is ok, gets a clean bill of health and still has a chance to live his afl dream

There's been a few deaths on the field in soccer from undiagnosed heart problems, so even if Pitty never plays again at least it's worst case scenario avoided.

No idea whether his is in that league of seriousness yet of course.

So career threatening injuries/complications:

Morabito's knee
Michie's foot
Barlow's leg
Fyfe's shoulders
Sandilands feet
Pitt's heart

We don't do things by half.

Best of luck Jayden hope all is OK.

Nah. It's just part of footy, a retirement. I would consider the Swift and McCarthy scenarios somewhat similar in terms of loss to a footy club, and West Coast and Port didnt get compensated.

May not be retirement, depends whether he's at risk of going too fast or too slow. If he gets heart block (ie too slow), pretty much career over. If he goes too fast, there's plenty of treatment options that can keep an elite level athlete out on the field.

Just when things were looking up for the team.. devastating. If they are cutting the media out there is something to it. You dont make those requests for minor bumps in the road.

Let's just hope that everything ends up being okay for him. The other boys seem pretty shattered by the news; Croz and Zac Clarke took to Twitter tonight with sympathy for him.

6PR reporting an unconfirmed rumour that Pitt's career may be over due to a heart condition.
I think we sometimes reduce players to commodities and forget they are human. Some things are more important than football.

I wish him the best , even if he is no longer able to play for us.

What do the footy gods have against these players?

The problem for us is not so much we get injuries, all teams get injuries, but who is getting injured. There's enough star power under injury cloud at FFC to power an entire AFL team.

Leigh Adams had some heart problems with his heartbeat hitting sky high levels. Hopefully for Pitt, it's something treatable or even curable. I would be remaining optimistic unless told otherwise.

Wish him the best.

Aargh. What bad news. As already said, we don't know the full ins and outs yet and there are many many stories of players with heart issues able to get corrective treatment and play at elite level, so we just need to hang in there. It's obviously not a straight forward thing though if they've gone down this path at this stage.

But either way, terrible setback for a player I personally thought still had every chance to crack the big time. So glad the worst case didn't play out and he collapsed on the field, that would have been true tragedy.

Best wishes to the guy.

Terrible news for Jayden and his family, very much hope he gets a full diagnosis, treatment if needed and can go on with life (regardless of football) without having to worry about his heart. At his age he just needs to be able to enjoy life.

Devastating news for the kid, he's been under so much pressure since the second his name was read out by Lloydy, and now this - just as he was starting to hit his straps. Feel terrible for the kid, i'm sure he'll get the support he deserves though.
