All my sisters & mother (strangely enough) turn either 21, 25 or 29 every year.
Some have been known to turn 29 one year then 25 the following.

I just figure it's some sort of female maths we never got taught at school.

Can you recommend a personal accounting software for budgeting, money management for basic home use that can also help with Tax time?

Australian Business 101- Top two excuses used by every Small Business in Oz. (yeah I'm exaggerating, apologies to the decent folk here)

1.Computer problems, I didn't get your email, the server was down. Inexplicably this coincides with phone problems too.

2.My kid was sick, been in hospital looking after him. Really? Or is it you just think there's no way I'll call you on it. I know you're lying, you know I know you're lying but let's do the dance lest I feel the wrath of your faux outrage if i dare question you. We must be a terribly sick nation with all these kids in hospital.

Seriously for all you well traveled people out there are we the worst when it comes to service?
I spent a couple of months in the States a few years ago & it was a dream compared to here.

I'm sorry to inconvenience you business owners by daring to pay you for services.

Not sure about being worse but i have thought about quitting my office job to become a tradie so many time.
I have very little luck with dealing with them. Most of them run their own Businesses and seriously if the big companies did what they do their consumers we would be rioting in the streets.

I'm pretty sure I did this exact rant a while ago & I'm still getting the same excuses!

Hint on being a tradie: Make sure you can rub your chin well. Apparently this is essential when giving a quote. Don't worry about pen, paper & calculator. It's all in rubbing your chin, grunting, looking blankly then saying" awww, i reckon she's gunna run ya 'bout $3K".


If you can do that you'll go far.

Quick Books is probably suitable.

They probably have 'Accounting for Dummies' now (no pun intended) to cover home budgeting

Dinner was a feast of scallops, mussels, pork belly and creme brulee, all accompanied by beautiful french wines.

Mate, that is old school. I tell you what is happening now. I called a Landsacpper to quote some work in our backyard.
He rocks up at the front, with his V8 SS ute, designer sun glasses, I actually thought he was a GStar sales person with the clothing he was wearing.. We proceeded to the backyard, he pulls out his ipad and stars designing on some fancy app. He looks up occasionally to make conservation & then suddenly drops the bomb. "Yea, its small job, easy, will cost around 35K". Lucky I don't have a heart conditions or else I might be on the way to hospital.

Second quote - 13k

Thrid quote - 2.5k - Admittedly this guy looked shonky.

In the end I just decided to pay a local gardener to pull out some tree/shrubs and did some work myself. Total cost ~ $950.

The sad thing is i will watch it for the lulz.

Just got back from Melbourne, had a awesome weekend at Urban Central hostel near the Crown. Went to the game Fri night and spent mainly at the Crown but did go to a place called Spice Market. A bit too ladi da for me.
Discovered a pub called the Royal on Punt Rd before the game, oh boy. Me Likey!!!

Also got to watch my beloved England troll the Aussies in the cricket
